Asking a girl out on facebook

I used to work at a bar a few months ago and meet this girl.
I always thought that the guy she was with was her boyfriend.
Used to smile at me and turn her head my way to see if I was looking at her!

I bumped into her a while ago at my local bar/restaurant but only got her name because I was with my mother! Felt like there was a vibe there.She saw me first.She turned away then looked back again!
Sent her a message on facebook but said something about her supposed boyfriend so no reply.

Decided yesterday just to send a friend request and she added!

It says she is single and looking for friends!

Should I ask her out and how should I phrase it?

I would say first get a response from her before you message her for a date (I would try to the number, and call to ask for the date). Make it a small talk message. Keep it light and fun and only a few sentences.. Guage her reply for her IL (which can be tough).. Then next msg say you'd like to catch up and "what is your number?"...

Or she may be one of those people that posts their number on their profile, which would be even easier!
