The New York Times just dropped some worrying news: more kids and teenagers are getting prescribed a bunch of psychiatric meds all at once. Even though doctors are handing out these meds like candy, nobody's sure if they're safe or what they're doing to kids' brains as they grow. This whole mix-and-match med thing is especially going up among kids who are in foster care or have disabilities. It's scary because these meds, which are supposed to help, might not have been checked out properly for young people. So, we're crossing our fingers and hoping for the best without knowing the consequences. It's a big gamble with kids' health, and it feels like we're not taking the best care of our most vulnerable.

Remember, the human brain does not stop developing until you're 25.

Basically a repeat of what they did in the 1930s and 40s handing out benzodiazepines in orphanages and calling them "vitamins" and then in the 1950s handing out barbiturates to housewives and calling them "Mother's Little Helper".
