Hey guys,
i dont usually post on the health forum but im a bit of gym freak.

anyway i was thinking i finally thought id check my arms size.

im 225, 12 to 14% bf, 6ft3

i was just wondering since i dont look at other guys to compare.
what are the body stats of the peeps here.
i suppose im looking to see if im at the average or need more work.

ive got 18inch arms
my wrist is 8.3inch
waist is 36

i have not checked my chest hams or calves
but i think my chest is about 54.

not sure about calves and thighs.

i take vitamins, and fish oil daily.

i had an accident playing ball so my knee is a lil fvkd, hence reduced cardio, but im taking glucosamine 1500mg for joint care and it seems to be doing a good job. so my cardio will hopefully cut more bf.

the only suppliments i take is whey.

oh i also take a 200gms pure caffiene pill half hour before my work out and that basically gets me hyper focused.

4 times a week work out, split.
benching 110kgs
ezibar curls 55kgs (id like to get this higher)

due my knee i cant do as heavy a squat as i used to but i try to get some good squats in my workout. however i avoid doing legs due to the pain which i shouldnt. so im aiming for more leg work outs from now on.

mainly consume - 40% protien (beef, chicken, turkey & tuna) 40% slow burning carbs and 20% fat mainly mono and poly.

what do you guys think? advice?

i pl;ay basketball so thats also my cardio + 2 days after my workout to get anaerobic

+ i do muay thai, boxing, mma training twice a week.

Who cares how big your arms are and how much you can curl? The important question is what do you deadlift?

Also, does anyone else notice how common it is to run into guys who "hurt their knee" and "can't squat", but can curl and bench press all day long? I've never run into someone who said they have a bad shoulder and can't bench, but do lots of squats and deadlifts

HAHAHAHAHA that's freakin hilarious.

slickaz- your on here to see if you need to go further? What the...

Besides that whats your maxes on squats, deads, and bench? What is your routine and diet? How long you've been lifting?

Those measurements seem a bit funny. 54 inch chest? That's pretty ridiculously massive at 225lbs. Ronnie coleman weighs 300lbs and only has a 58 inch chest.

If you truly have these stats...why in the world would you be asking advice on here.

Hey Kerpal,
yeh i think because the knee is probably one of the easist places to injur on the human body? i dunno..i dislocated it while playing basketball going for a lay up got pushed onto my right knee..i still have muscle not fully set correctly or something.
anyway i do just over 380 deadlift, hoping to up that today and over the next 4 weeks slightly. I do tend to shy away from any heavier because of fear i suppose of the pain in the knee..but i should over come that.

either way note that i do alot of leg exercises to recoup my knee and also jump training for dunking. so my calves are pretty developed as i jump train alot. so..anyway not to show off or anything man im just trying to understand where im at..but i realise the others have put up journals with good weights and stats..so i should go read those to get a better comparison and where to improve

Hey stallion,
not if i should, i wanna know if i can. basically by getting advice from other gym guys, since i dont have a gyn partner due to my work schedule.
anyway
i bench max ive pushed is 250lbs but i tend to stick to about 225 now because of form and more reps in.
Deads i max at 400
squats i dont really know purely out of fear for my knee.lol.

ive been lifting for 6 years now. but up and down due to injury etc.

Routine is:
4 day split lift
Legs and shoulders
Arms, Abs
Chest
Back, Abs

My nutrition is my achilles heel, as i said due to my work schedule i dont get to eat 5 times a day.
but i do eat my reccomend intake of Protien, carbs, vitamins and fats. i want to be able to split the intake across the day....how do you guys do that?

like i said about the chest im just guessing i havent measured yet but i do have a big chest thats one of the only things i do consistently well like kerpal said im one of those guys that does alot of upper body, mainly chest, tri, bi, shoulder and back.

You sure you dont bench more than that? A month ago i was benching 285 and im 6'4 200ish. But i have a jacked up wrist and shoulder so i stopped. Its hard being 6'3 or 6'4 and squatting. Believe it or not bad knees occur pretty frequently. That why ya gotta work on FORM with lighter weight then move up slowly.

well i push 120kgs n thats roughly 250 right?
I try to do more reps and proper form. obviously aiming to push weight up slowly. but i wanna make sure i get good reps in so i do 4 sets of 8. usually i fail on my 4th set. but ive got better push now.

First time yesterday i went back and pushed myself with squats and dead lifts.
Man i am so sore today. its hard for me to do squats because when i go below a certain point my knee gives out a click and then pain starts. so i put the weight right back to just the bar and started up again, with the weight low my knee didnt click. so ill have to work on that slowly.

What do you guys eat/consume for recovery after a heavy lift session?

Taller guys can often be at a biomechanical disadvantage when doing deads and squats.

With your stats you're quite a specimen, you should post a pic.

As far recovery drink for post WO goes, I mix mine up, but 1/2 serving weight gain powder, 1/2 scoop whey isolate, 5-10 g BCAA powder w/ 5 g glutamine and a couple of bananas is one of my favorite recipes for a post WO shake.

after a workout, eat lots of protein and carbs whether in liquid or solid form or both. if you're trying to lose fat omit or reduce the carbs and keep them low GI. maybe add some fat to bring the calories up if you don't have many carbs

if you're trying to gain weight at all costs then three Big Macs work well. :D

no, definetly trying to cut down the fat but up the muscle.

this is my conundrum..

I want to lose bf but put on muscle.

so im gonna cut down fat in but increase low GI carb intake..right?

i like the whey + bananas. but you add milk or water?

also, ive been told by a fitness nutrionist that whey protien works best if you try to keep it as dry intake as possible. if you dilute it too much then absorption is alot less. ????? truth???..there seems to be good fact behind this because human stomach digests solids better than liquids.

5-10 g BCAA powder w/ 5 g glutamine : seriously. what does BCAA and glutamine really do? i mean does this actually work?

10g BCAA and 5g glutamine are just unnecessary in a shake that already includes protein and carbs.

slickaz if you want to lose bodyfat but put on muscle then you must eat protein and fat most of the time and carbs around the workout and on your carb days as YOUR individual metabolism requires. this may require experimentation. and it's a slooooooooooooow process so be patient with it.

if you're in a hurry to get your abs through - go on a fat loss diet. if you feel you're too small - gain weight. the whole lose fat+gain muscle thing has been taken out of context on here by a lot of people, and has resulted in guys thinking they can gain 30lbs while getting shredded - NOT gonna happen for 99.99999% of people.

changes will be slow and steady, you WILL make progress but if you're like most young guys (impatient) you may become frustrated at the slowness and mess with the diet and make NO progress - better to go on a mass or fat loss phase instead for quicker results.

I take protein/carbs/fat in my first meal. Protein/carb in my next 2 meals and protein/fat in my last 3 meals.
