Are women as desperate for sex as men?

A while ago, I was having one of those chats with my dad.. Y' know where he enquires about your love life and tries to give you tips.

Anyway, I remember him saying

"The thing to remember son, is that women are just as desperate for sex as you are. I didn't really realise that at your age, but its true"

I guess this was supposed to be something to help me reduce any expectations of rejection..

I'm not sure how he came to this conclusion, (he started going out with my mum at 17, and they were married at 21) although after 30 years he's now had an affair and the marriage is over. So maybe hes basing his theory on that somehow..

Anyway, do people reckon this is true? Do women really feel like they need sexual intimacy as much as guys? Or are they more interested in a relationship...

I dunno, part of me thinks its true, based on the amount of girls I've known and that my friends have seen that were basically nothing more than f**k buddies.. but of course another side looks at the amount of women that refuse to put out.. and seem to be waiting for the perfect man.. I guess all women (and men) are different but on the whole what do you think?

Yes and no

The main difference is that women tend to be more picky about it. A lot of men will lower their standards a lot for a night or three of sex, but most women wouldn't have a fling with anyone who's below the same standard of attractiveness than they have for a relationship. Actually, I think being less compatible and having other challenges (geographical, etc.) is a plus for a woman to want a man just for some booty. Not so much worry about getting attached.

Yeah, when I was thinking about it, I thought the answer was 'yes' but... they are more picky.

But of course if they're more picky than we are, then the answer really ought to be 'no' in that they'd turn down opportuniites that a man probably wouldn't.. Maybe (in this respect) they've just got more willpower than men do

You're not really asking the right questions.

Most girls are far more picky about who they'll sleep with than the average guy, but then once they've decided to open their legs for someone... well they just wanna screw as much as he does.

So so true. I was in a LTR for three years with my high school sweetheart. She was a virgin and I was a virgin. She wouldn't have sex with me for 2 years because she was scared. Finally one night it happened and we had sex. After that she was almost initiating sex more that I did, we Fuked so much it was amazing. It seems it was all she could think of. After we broke up she starting having sex with other guys, but I don't know how many.
