Okay, I just invited this dude who is a long time acquaintance of mine to a roadtrip and go swimming at the beach.

I texted the guy, didn’t really build up that much rapport to be honest but invited him anyways. He said, ‘okay cool, we’ll go next week’. I texted him on Sunday what’s up, if we can go this week and there’s no response though he looked at my text.

I find this a bit of a feminine behavior and this is not the first time this happened to me. Im looking to expand my social circle, I’ve been going to a church meeting new people and looking to make a pick up basketball comeback just to play with the guys.

I enjoy solitude. i read, do art, play guitar, I pray, read the scriptures and listen to music. But don’t mind the camaraderie of a few buddies to unwind to once in a while.

I texted my brother this afternoon and I might have a job lined up at the courthouse in the possible future. Maybe I can meet some good people there. We’ll see.

Yeah I agree, us bros can be the flakiest to other bros, Especially after a certain age when you start making less friends. The fact is everyone is out for themselves and there is limited time. So most bros will prioritize trying to get laid as opposed to making new friendships with other men.

Ive had a few bros try an befriend me and I just flake out and do something else instead, like take a nap or hang with a girl. IDK. The need for community and brotherhood I feel is essential, but is missing out of todays men. You really gotta join up some niche **** and nerdout with others in the scene.

I tend to make friends with dudes very easily. I’ve always been like that. I’ve even ended up being friends with guys later in life that I didn’t much care for back in the day for one reason or the other. Women friends? Can’t do em. Tried and got dogged out every time. I can’t get along with women as friends AT ALL.

You find his behavior feminine? Seems like the natural response to someone asking if the previously agreed upon appointment is still valid. If anything, you're the one behaving feminine here. Given that you're just acquaintances this is really weird.

You don't double check whether it's still on with anyone, you assume it is and go in to set time and place. This applies whether it's a chick or anyone else, you lead, especially when you took the lead by initiating the interaction.

At the very least you could ask when he has time and see if it fits with your schedule.

Social skills aren't limited to women, they apply with anyone.

Good news.

The dude texted me back, it turns out he was too busy with work to respond.

He invited me to meet his family on Thursday, then we plan on going to the beach this Saturday.

My sister also gave me the contact number (with her permission) of a female classmate and childhood friend. I checked her facebook and she majored and is involved in politics. She’s a Filipina, Im attracted to her physically, though being in a more than platonic relationship with her is questionable. Maybe she can also be one of my hang out buddies and can introduce me to some of her lady friends.

Anyways, just updating on my situation.

Never confuse seniority for loyalty. Everyone has their things. I try not to flake on people and vice versa I ask that people do the same.
