Well as i am sure all of the american guys probably have noticed is that girls are attracted to guys with a foreign accent. I especially mean English, French, and Australian. Some of the other accents they dont seem to care for. But whenever one of those three are around I always hear girls say that accent is sooooo sexy. So is it the same in other countries? Are European Australian, Russian, Japanese, etc. girls attracted to American guys accents? Also, are like girls from other countries attracted to any other country's accent?

If you are in a foreign land, then your accent is pretty unique and therefore exotic -- unless you can't even speak the native language, then you are incomprehensible. But if you are here, say, in America, then you are just one of millions to any foreign visitor.

Well, I'm from outside the US. I find the ladies accent attractive, but the trouble is I watch so much US tv that it's hard to notice it. But when I hear it in the "real world" then it sounds great. Although there's different accents for different parts of the US. But your women sure have some sexy ways to pronounce words. :)

But BobbDobbs is right though, if you're in a foreign country, your accent will stand out. And women will generally find it attractive. I have a slight english accent because of my parents and have been complimented on how nice it sounds.

But yeah, american accent is cool. Well what I'v heard.

American accents may not quite be the issue here in the British Isles; rather, it's the ostentatiousness of American speakers that can be taken somewhat badly. By that I mean no offence to all our American friends, not at all. But people here tend to be more reserved, more quietly spoken, not as forthcoming with their opinions - certainly that's the case in rural areas. I met a girl from Maryland who was visiting friends here. She was LOUD, opinionated, assertive, over confident and even as we sat in a restaurant, people walking by outside could have heard her. I just felt like stuffing that potato she was eating down her throat to give my ears a rest... We have seen this phenomenon elsewhere, e.g., when my dad's Canadian cousin comes over to visit.

However, my friend Byron from California (his dad used to be a famous golfer) has a much quieter way with him, and his accent and bearing are faultless. So I think while the generalization may hold true, there will always be exceptions. I would suggest the best policy would be to not seek to draw attention to your American-ness when visiting here; better to let it be discovered during casual conversation when some chick notices your accent is different.

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

I'm from Maryland and oh my GOD that is the FUNNIEST thing I have heard in a long time!!! Dude, it's like I said a million times before on this board, the problem is that SHE'S FROM THE EAST COAST!!! Women around here are OBNOXIOUS, they act like the world OWES THEM SOMETHING, they are ARROGANT, and THEY ALL THINK THEY'RE INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!! Why do you think I prefer to date girls from other states?

To top it off, if they are from the Baltimore area, they have an ear piercing screetch of an accent that in 30 years I have never, ever gotten used to. It's just awful, I tell you, just AWFUL!

And I'm willing to bet that, if the girl was 30 pounds overweight, she was still wearing a half shirt/tank top that was 6 sizes too small, so you could see the rolls of fat being pinched out of her. They all think they have the body of Britney Spears.

On behalf of the 5.2 million citizens of the State of Maryland, I sincerely apologize. Please feel free to use potatos or any other implement to prevent any further pain to yourself in the future.

That generalization is pretty much a generalization. I am naturally introverted and i am pretty quiet. I know lots of people this way. But the northeast thing is funny. Everytime i meet girls from the northeast they are LOUD!!! and the accent is obnoxious. I know this guy and his girlfriend that moved from Boston and her voice gets old real quick.
I am not planning on leaving the US, I just wondered if the same theory held true that girls in other countries like american accents or others like the chicks here like foreign accents.

She has not impaired my views of Maryland, MDGood! There are obnxious women the world over, I am sure. When I was in Florida, though, I was really impressed with how polite and easy going the people were, men and women. Such courteous, friendly people - this was in a quiet suburb of Orlando, I might add. I felt quite at home there. I even let a native use my car's battery to jump start his. So my impressions of America were not adversely affected by one LOUD gal.

So you say the northeast is bad? I must visit those kin of mine in Connecticut...

Foreign girls love my accent, and by foreign, I mean anyone not from New England. I have a reasonably thick Boston accent, and foreigners love it.

Southie is wicked cool.

lol... we have a nice little state here... very pretty, thank you very much.

But I have to amend what I said and say again that it's girls from the mid-Atlantic states to New England, more specifically from Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York City, and Boston... that corridor. Girls from the South are generally more lady-like and less assuming.

Of course, this is not to say that it's every girl. I've met one or two in my life who weren't stuck on themselves ;)

Foreign accent, cute face, nice butt......it's all good :) I think that American accents are fine. I must admit that I am a big time sucker for a Spanish/Latin accent though.
