Are current gas prices cutting into your social life?

I used to get out more often, but lately, i literally think twice about getting out in the evenings because of the gas prices. (There are no nightspots in the town i live in. I have to drive 20 minutes minimum to the nearest hottie-spot). Hell, i'm not inclined to make any nonessential trips lately. God, these fukcing gas prices suck!

Any similar experiences or am i just cheap?

but my cars pretty good on gas anyway, so no, it doesnt cut into my social life

I've actually thought about that, since down here where I live most major rock concerts are NOT in my city. So I have often passed on certain shows due to the length of travel. I promised myself I would go up top see Evanescence, but usually pick and choose other shows.
But I do try to go to friend's shows in local nightclubs near where I live, so that's cool for me in particular, and then there's alway sthe local watering holes I frequent. But yeah, I try to stay a little closer to home myself.

Buy yourself a Sport Bike (or Cruiser, if that's your style). I wear full gear, it makes me feel sexy- plus gets me good mileage (50 MPG). It's fun, dangerous and saves money. I'd recommend it to anyone. Maybe if more people rode motorcycles we'd consume far less gas and kill more stupid people(Darwin knows what's up!). Win-win situation

Not really, because I don't have much of a social life outside of this forum. LOL.

Just kidding. I do have a social life but I don't have to drive that far to enjoy it. Maybe the most I've driven to hang out with friends was 15 miles. I drive a lot though, despite high gas prices. Who cares, just make more money.

I think it's stupid when people say "you remember when gas was 99 cents per gallon?" Because that also has a lot to do with inflation of prices, and not just gas prices. Anyway, gas is around $3.37 here, and it's actually gone down about 20 cents since the last time I pumped (it was around $3.57). Depends on the gas station though. If you have a wholesale store, like Costco, their gas prices are far lower.

I drive a V8 Jeep. I barely work.. make less then $200 a week yet can still afford to insure and gas it (and I fill my tank at least once, usually twice, a week), with plenty of cash left over for other bills and fun.

If you're complaining about gas prices, you're either cheap or can't afford to be driving.

Lol, you should see the prices per LITRE (about 1/5 of a US gallon) in England. 97p per litre, which is around $9 per gallon.
