approaching a girl while she's @ work

okay. so a few weeks ago went i went to pay for my Macy's credit card bill i saw a girl and talked to her a little bit. i found out she actually goes to my college. i thought she was kinda cute and wanted to ask her out but the timing seemed all wrong since customers kept coming.

today i went back to the store to pay my credit card bill again and she was working again. so i pay for my bill and talk to her a little bit. ask her how school is and everything. i was gonna ask her for her number, but a customer came and was waiting to be helped. so i just said oh it looks like you guys are getting busy and we said bye. i get home and start kicking myself for not asking her out.

any advice on what to do? I'm thinking of going back to the mall tomorrow and just act like i had to return something (at another store) and just asking her out then. any help would be appreciated.

Go up there and ask her. Dont use excuses.

If a customer is waiting....Just look over to the customer and say "Dont let me get in the way." Let the customer be served and sorted then go back to chatting...

Important: Shes at work. If she shows shes not intrested then leave her alone. She cant flee from her store to move away. You will know if she is not intrested. She will make it obious. (at least i do) No eye contact...short one word answers.

well, i was just thinking of picking up a pair of jeans that i liked and paying @ her register (if she's there). i realize that 'returning something' excuse is lame lol. I'm probably gonna go back there later on today and see what's up. If she's not there tonight i'll just catch her next time i gotta pay for my card. Thanks for the help guys.

UPDATE:

so i went back today to look @ some shoes and stopped by to see if she was there. she wasn't so i start walking out of the store. when i walk out i see her and 2 dudes sitting down on a mall bench. it turns out she was on her break, and one of the guys she was talking to was my cousin! lol so i say hi to her and start talking to my cousin and ask if she's single. i then just totally spaz out and i tell my cousin to give her my number.
on my way home i get a text from him saying she said to give you her number and she gave it to me. can't believe he actually came through lol.

i thought i totally ****ed that up but i ended up w/her number anyway. thanks everyone!
