I have 2 sns that I use for aim because i use that 2nd one so some people would not see me online b/c i want to avoid them but most ppl know i have a 2nd aim b/c i do talk to them on it. I just avoid the couple of few who i dont want to bother me. I have a few questions.

1. I put about the same buddies on both of those sn's but in one of my sn's, there's a buddy that is listed as online b/c i use that to talk to them b4 and the other one they are listed as not onlilne. Is this because they put privacy setting on?

2. I never knew about being invisible until a friend of mine aimed me and i said how are you online when i dont have u listed online... and buddy said invisible. Well, i have a couple of buddies that are listed as offline. However, when i go to their sn's and highlight it, it usually has no aim buddy icon which shows that their offline. However, some buddies of mine have their buddy icon shown, which means that their online but invisible? Also, why do ppl like being invisible?

3. Also, i heard of imchaos which is when you can put a link on your profile and when ppl click on it, you can see who has viewed your profile. Is there any way you can know who has read your away message/profile by just not putting a link? I remembered when i click on my buddies profile, not sure if i clicked on a link or not and it then showed the sn's of 3 ppl who has read my friends buddies profile and i asked her what it was and she said its to catch ppl who read her profile and I saw it from my own computer.

tyvm.

1. Yes, they have you blocked to that particular SN.

2. If people have the invisible mode set, no icon should be showing, they should appear in your off line list. Personally I use invisible mode all the time, if I want to chat with just one spefic person, or a couple of people. I hate being in a good chat and having to deal with the "hey what's up" people...

3. Why bother? You can set up a version of aim to log every time a person views your profile. It's old, but I prefer to use DeadAim, I have it set up so it is always showing an away message, but at the same time i can actually chat and reply to any messages, if i wanted to. Btw, one feature i do find useful, logging all the chats, and passowords/sns of people who go on your computer.

hey thx. can u also answer to this?

1. Back to my first question, i just made another sn and put the same buddies on it and this buddy still shows up as offline. Now that means that this buddy only allows ppl in their buddy list to see their online instead of blocking that 1 sn right? since i never aimed that buddy with my 2nd sn.

2. And for quesetion 2, they DO appear in my offline list. However, when i highlight their sn in their offline list, it SHOWS their buddy icon. I usually have 2 buddies having their buddy icon shown while in the offline list while my other buddies have no icon shown because their offline. Usually they sign on and sign off and the buddy icon still shows. I am presuming invisible right since i remembered i had another buddy suddenly appear on my aim buddy list signed on for 12 hrs and i was online almost all day that day and they NEVER was signed on.

3. I can download deadaim and know who actually viewed my profile without them knowing i knkow they clicked on it?

thx for taking time to answer my questions.

1. Yeah, there are options you can play around with, that would make you appear only to the people on your buddy list.

2. I wouldn't read too much into the icons. There are so many mods out there that you can make aim show pretty much whatever you want it to show. If they suddely pop up with 12 hours time, yeah, then they probably were in invisible mode.

3. DeadAim is just much more convenient to use, you can open multiple IM windows, and do some other good stuff.

As far as getting a program to log who views your online profile, or clicks a link in that profile, I don't do that, so you're gonna have to google a little.

I will say this though, most of the people I know, know that if they click on a profile of anybody, or on any link, chances are it is being logged, by whoever posted the profile/link.
