I was just wondering
The description of the forum Anything Else goes like this:
Sports, the weather, what's happening in the news ... or anything else. Talk about it here.

Elections are on the news and we cant post about it???Just a thought!

We used to be able to. But the nature of politics lately is that there is very little tolerance for the viewpoints of others. These threads quickly devolve into pissing contests. I should know -- I used to post in them and was as guilty of this as anyone else.

Many of us have strong political opinions, and that's a good thing. And there are sites that are specifically designed to handle the kind of environment partisan feuding. This isn't one of them.

The two major discussion forums for the political parties are:

Right wing: www.freerepublic.com
Left wing: www.democraticunderground.com

Both sites have reasonable people as well as some that are loonie tunes.

People at Yahoo! forums are also pretty much a mixture.

Because they lead to flame wars and more work for the moderators. I mean, we are mods...We don't want to work.

Yellowhat.org is also another place to argue pointless sh*t like politics if you feel so compeled to waste your time doing that.
