Anyone play skill games sites for money? ie play chess for $$

Ever since they passed that law making it impossible for americans to play online gambling, Ive been looking for alternatives.

I found out they have "skill based" game sites where you can play a skill based (chess, checkers, backgammon etc.) game against someone and bet real money. And its totally legal. Anyone else tried this? Im thinking about trying it out myself. How does it compare to playing poker? http://www.moneygaming.com seems like a good choice, anyone been there? how is it?

It seems like it would actually be better than poker becuase its easier to get good at these games than poker.

Unbeleivable! Not one reply?

Im shocked. After they passed that law where americans cant play online poker with real money, many were left seeking alternatives. I know there are plenty of guys on here that used to do the online poker for money thing who have found alternatives. I cant be the only one seeking an alternative to this bullshyt law. Theres go to be some people on here that have already done this kind of thing and can give me some feed back on it.

Anyone played skill based game sites for money? You know, the ones where you bet real money in a game of chess or checkers or backgammon against someone else. If you win, you take the pot. All real money, all legal in the United states. I provided one website that looked pretty good in my last post.

come on people!

I play the Forex market.

Its like the Stock market, except with currency. Not only that but its not a game and I actually make money off it. Not alot, but it accumulates, and over time I can invest more and more as the starting capital increases for each trade.

But hey! Stick with your poker and junk. Who knows? After a few days of playing, you might make enough cash to buy lunch.

A few years ago I played on Worldwinner.com. For two days I was killing everyone in Super Collapse but Worldwinner matches you against opponents of "equal" skill level and you have no say in who you play against. After three days it kept matching me against the same woman. That b*tch played WorldWinner for a living and took over 300 from me in a few days. I couldn't get away from her. SuperCollapse, Checkers, Chess...She chased me everywhere.

hey, I just looked into world winner.com. It looks pretty good. Much better than moneygaming.com

Moneygaming always seemed empty with no one to play. World winner looks popular.

1. I heard some people cheat in chess by messing with the timer using some cheat program, is this true?

2. Are there lots of people to play against?

3. whats the maximum amout of $$ you can bet per game?

4. Is chess the only game you can directly play against another human? backgammon I was playing aginast CPU

Im looking for a site that has lots of people to play against.

BTW, I didnt know worldwinner has checkers.

I dont' know about poker, but for horse racing I use xpressbet.com and if it's a track on TVG, which sucks ass as a station but it's introactive with my satillate, I can make bets not only online, I can do them without having to get up from using the TV, with my remote.

BTW, the ban isn't on ONline Gaming, the ban in essense is to top US Citzens sending money to offshore compaines, because it's not being taxed. The Goverment was loosing close to 70 BILLION a year because of it, i'd be pretty pissed too. not saying it's right... I missed my offshore account :(.

It's still legal to gamble as long as the funds are going to a website that oriinates, is incorporated and located in the United States (i.e taxable money)

The problem with poker is that poker is only legal in a handful of states.

I do horse racing, all I had to do was switch accounts. Hell two of the compaines I bet with are public compaines.. Youbet and TVG

last but not least.. there is a way around this loophole if you are that into poker.. all of your old favoriate sites still are up (at least the major ones), they just don't cater to american clientele.

look into offshore banking... 100 bucks and a day or two worth of research. Funds transfer to the offshore bank, from the offshore bank to the site.. your winnings in reverse.. from the site to the offshore bank, to the offshore bank to your bank account.
