Hey I'm currently 5'8 and wish to be a little taller maybe 5'10 or even 5'11 would be great, but besides medical crap is there any natural way to maybe grow a little taller naturally (besides genetics)? I heard sleeping in complete darkness helps you grow taller and sleeping before 11 pm and etc. but dont know the validity of these 'rumors'... thanx

Just eat well and let genetics work. How old are you, guys can grow until their 21. I honestly feel that whever I get into a weights workout and/or drink coffee, things said to stunt your growth, I get girls saying you got taller all the time. I honestly dont know how but everyone is different.

Wow. Let me clarify for you, that even though I'm not a scientist, this is complete bullshyt. Those rumours must have been invented, because people think sleeping well makes you grow taller in general, but I doubt there's a genetic rule that going to bed at 10:59 will make you grow taller than going to bed at 11:01 every night.

Plus, hold on..I just realized that..not trying to be sarcastic, but most of the time when I sleep it IS in complete darkness?

Maybe quality sleep does make people grow taller in the looong run..by a quarter inch or something, but who knows...the before 11 rule is ridiculous, though.

It is true that when kids sleep more they grow taller.
Yes, but we need to rephrase it a little:
When you sleep better and longer, you get closer to exploiting your full genetic potential height wise.
So if genetically you are NOT meant to be taller than say 5'9, no great sleep in this world can make you taller than that.

i have the book, Basically it just states known facts. First it talks about the advantage of height in every aspect of life, and how you get respect, and become dominant lol. Secondly they talk about HGH, in science terms etc.Than they go on about nutrition , common facts, vitamins minerals, boring...Than sleep, Than posture, Than like a quarter of the book is stretching exercises for 28 weeks lol, which i have been to lazy to do

Stretching will get you looking taller (ie. no actual growth, just stretching of the spine etc). Taking an anti-estrogen will prevent calcification of the joints/bones (stop your growth plates from closing), and using HGH, IGF-1 in conjunction with it will allow the growing process to speed up. Obviously the best time to do this would be in your early teens, but I don't know any 16 year olds that have tens of thousands of dollars to throw at growing taller. Only thing you can do is get your 8 hours of good sleep, balanced diet and plenty of calcium, vitamins & minerals, and also maybe pray to the gods. I made the mistake of only getting around 3-4 hours of sleep a night when I was 15-16, and I regret it now. How old are you BTW?

Average males don't stop growing until age _25_, not 21.

thers no way to get taller... unless you can go back in time and start taking vitamin supplements at the age of two... but other than that, stand up straight and work on your posture, youll look taller at least.

sorry to say... it's all genetics... at least we don't see everybody walking around being 6 feet tall.

if that were possible i wouldn't be 5'4... and id be a model... cuz im that good looking. ha. k peace.

I'm really wondering where you guys get those sound facts from, sometimes, as I had reached my full height at 19 and all of my friends most of who are now around 24, didn't grow after about 19/20 anymore either....and I really can't think of anybody who seemed to grow until 25, I don't even know of anyone who SAID it (and that speaks volumes in my eyes , b/c ppl believe and talk a lot of **** these days ;-))

but just a piece of advice: I think if height was a problem for me looks-wise, I might consider moving/going to a place where people are in general a bit shorter, too. I don't mean this as a joke or anything, but i'm sure it should be a lot easier for somebody who isn't tall at all to get girls attracted to them in a country where other men and girls aren't tall either, that helps as much as growing and staying in your country all your life would do. I'm thinking asian or some hispanic countries...and of course I'm not saying leave your country for good just for girls blabla, but i think you get the idea...mostly for dating..

Actually it's a scientific fact that has been twisted by some people to give false hope to some guys who feel short.

Its' more like:
"Some guys (in other word "few guys") might still have some growth as late as 25.

As for "some guy", I'd say maybe one guy out of 100. And for "some growth", it simply means "measurable growth", basically it's NOT even quarter of an inch.

Madgame, you don't even sound like you're 22, let alone older than 25, so how would your friends and you count? Anyway, that's just my perception of your post. The fact is its the truth. I gained an inch in the last two years. Explain that: 21-23, a half inch a year, hardly nominal and I won't lose that extra inch until I'm 45-50 by graphs I've posted in other threads.

Anyway, don't stress about height. Its just like people with a large facial scar or something: they can't really change but have to live with. Sometimes people with scars are friendly and sometimes they develop weird social habits because they're so insecure. Which would you rather be?
