In my Japanese class there is a chick who for all intents and purposes can be called a nerd. She likes to play video games, watches anime and Japanese game-shows and is in a Japanese class. Basically if I were a girl I'd be her, yeah I know that sounds really weird.

The odd thing is that she's actually cute nor is there anything wrong with her ie, no odd piercings, not fat, has good energy. Although she doesn't seem to put any effort into her looks. I'd give her a 6 but with the right clothes, hair and make-up she could be a 7.5, possibly an 8. She's white BTW.

I've been talking to her in class for a few weeks (never outside of class) and I'm slowly ramping up the flirting. I'm starting to get the felling that she may be interested.

I haven't "asked her out yet" and I'm going to suggest we get lunch after class either tomorrow or Monday.

One thing that I'm not sure about is that, because we have common interests in video games/anime etc, I could "out nerd her" basically make myself seem too nerdy.

What would be the best way to express myself? I want to show her that I'm a cool fun guy, that also has similar interests to her. That seems to be the best way to attract her.

Of course I'm aware that I may already be in the friendzone. But there is no point in not finding out for myself.

Maybe there is som cool japanese shop with japanese artifects you could go to, or maybe eat some sushi together?

I wouldn't worry about "out nerding" her. I'm sure you've got a great personality. Just check out her interest levels on various subjects and keep it there approximately.

Other than that, I really like girls like that as well. Good taste IMHO

Treat her like any other woman and escalate and just ask her out. YOU have nothing to lose, only she has something to lose.

It seems pretty damn likely anything you suggest would work. Habachi, maybe? It's hella entertaining, too.

PS- I also like women like that. Probably because they deviate from all ther norms..or at least any of the HB-nerdy typed I've met do.

Why are you scared of out-nerding a girl? I am getting my degree in software engineering, and I have a good memory when it comes to numbers and pointless facts. Something I can't just stop doing or want to stop, but a certain amount of women love this. They like to tease me with the fact that I'm a geek and then proceed to flirt vigorously. Don't be bothered with it because most girls aren't too 'upset' by that. Just have fun.

Don't worry about out-nerding a girl.
I think every girl at heart is a closet nerd. My "chica" right now was somewhat of a nerd (from what she tells me) in her earlier years.

She knows I graduated from IT and that I like video games.
Hell, she saw a trophy I won in a Halo League tournament and that didn't scare her away. She knows I outnerd her, but I don't let that deter me.

I'm confident of who I am and I don't need to hide it and that's what sets me apart from everyone else. I'm not trying to impress her, but I have never tried to supress who I am.

How funny, once again it comes down to confidence. It's all about me accepting who I am. Now excuse me I'm off to play Pokemon.

I've been told by some guys that nerdy habits should be kept from girls. One of them was a natural.

Nah, I disagree heavily. It's all in the social skills. Being geeky/nerdy combined with a good degree of social skills and proper grooming is perfect. Girls seem to love me, because I am confident with who I am yet I'm not afraid to show where my passions are.

Hell, over here the geeky look is even becoming a bit popular. My dancing partner is even trying to get one of those massive geeky glasses to geek herself up... However, in my opinion there is a massive difference between geeky and nerdy. Nerdy is mostly associated with social ineptness and being awkward around people. I can see how people tell you to keep that away from girls.

Breaking away from video games and anime may be the best thing you can do sociallly. Its great that you found someone with so much in common with you, but the whole idea in my opinion of the DJ life is stepping out of the circle and challenging yourself

I challenge you to hit a club this saturday with a friend and pull numbers establish rapport, build comfort kino escalate and finally Isolate. Maybe you can be F closing an HB7 or two instead of playing Pokemon this weekend

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Everything in moderation.

You CAN enjoy anime and video games, so long as you don't let them take over your life.

And as for nerdy girls...they turn out to be the kinkiest ones, and they're usually much less *****y than their 'hot' counterparts who feel entitled to everything.

Nerdy girls are the best

They tend to be really easy going and closet nymphos............I went to a university full of nerds, they get less guys and have less guys hitting on them so they tend to be more receptive than the popular outgoing chick who is usually a huge dissapointment anyways.

Good luck.

Is that why you have Meteor Mash as your name? You like Steel types, huh! I'm a fan of Charizard and Blastoise and Electabuzz. Probably why my sig is what it is!

People try to hide the nerd inside them. AFAIC you can use the geekiness to your advantage if you play your cards right.

Took me a while but I finally made a move.

Today is the last day of class before Spring Break so I knew I had to do something now or regret inaction for the entire week.

After beating around the bush I suggested that we get lunch together and she happily agreed. We spent about an hour at the campus bar & grill.

The conversation was...interesting. We talked a little bit about our hobbies, her major what she wants for her career. Then the conversation drifted towards anime, video games and Pokemon. This was the first time I've ever been asked who my favorite gym leader was  BTW this chick is 20. I don't think it's possible to be nerdier than she is, but she's cute, better at Japanese than I am and has good positive energy.

She also asked me what my hobbies were and responded positively when I told her that my favorite things are video games and anime. I also mentioned surfing, working out and playing some sports.

Assuming I don't screw it up, this could turn out to be an interesting experience. Unfortunately now we're on spring break and I won't be able to talk to her till April 5th.

When class gets back, I need to quickly establish that I'm not looking to have her just as a friend.

So far my plan is next time we get lunch, we eat at the dorm cafeteria and then I'll have her show me her room. That could lead to more flirting and I should probably go for a kiss.

Anyways it's spring break and I can finally play a game. I'm trying to decide between God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII or Heavy Rain.

Well played, just be sure to meet up soonish when u go back, but u mentioned that anyway, but all seems positive from what you said.

Geeky girls are pretty easy going, the girl im seeing now is just like this we play mario kart online together and stuff, its nice having the g/f joining in instead of just reading gossip magazines.

And id say final fantasy, for me its back to pokemon.

If I was to give you advice for next time or for as you go forward now,it would be to throw at least one flirty comment or innuendo that you have learnt from this site; into your converstion while getting to know her ESPECIALLY WHEN FIRST DEALING WITH CHICKS.

She may fake outrage or disinterest but one thing is for sure: she will see you as manly (ballsy) and hopefully attractive if you do it right.
