I have one. A few years ago a man I know and I were watching playoff football with a group of friends. The Saints were in it, and so were the 49ers. Everybody had some to drink of course and it was a rather boisterous group.
My friend had both a McLaren and a Ferrari. I had a car of similar caliber and we are both car people. So off the cuff we made a bet. Whoever’s team lost in the playoffs first loses the bet and gives up their exotic car for a week. Saints and 49ers are both NFC so no chance of a Super Bowl between those 2, lol. Everybody in the whole group thought this was a fantastic bet, and the fun was it wasn’t really for money but rather for something else that was meaningful.
My friend took the McLaren off the table, so it was his Ferrari versus my British exotic.
I lost.
And so he won the use of my car for week, which being from London, he found very Bond-like.
I paid up and it makes for a fun story.
I’ll say this. I knew if he screwed up my car he was good for it. It’s not a bet I would make with someone who drives a minivan, or even a Corvette for that matter. It was “like kind” and great fun.
So yeah. I made good on the bet.
I never loan money to men. Only one ever had the gumption to ask. I told him HELL no and never ever ask me again. And he didn’t.
Sheesh
