I am 6"2' and I way 205 LBS, and I have 11% body fat. My body is probably the biggest strength of my game. But I have a b*tch of a time keeping and putting on more weight. You see mt metabolism is brutal. So I was wondering if anybody knew a way to put on some pounds fast. I mean I can turn fat into muscle easy, but I just can't get the bulk need. So does anybody have a quick weight gain program?

you want to gain weight quickly? eat a cheesecake every night before bed.

if you want to gain muscle then realise it doesn't come quickly unless you're blessed.

get in the trenches with the rest of us, getting under the bar, pulling deads, puking after legs, forcefeeding yourself to grow some muscle. that's the only way to do it and anyone who says otherwise is a liar and you can tell them I told them that.

If you need the extra calories and have a hard time eating them, try using three or four spoons of olive oil in every one of your three proteinshakes (morning/postworkout and bedtime). You dont taste the olive oil, and its an easy way to get 700+ calories extra. A friend of mine did this and started weightgaining again. Hes an ecto (skinnyguy/fast metabolism) and have a hard time forcefeeding himself. And extra calories=weightgain. Oats is also a very good and cheap carbsource. Dont eat carbs with fat in the same meal though. It will spike the insulin and you'll end up adding the calories as fat. Divide your meals into protein+carbohydrate and protein+fat meals. If you still cant gain weight, eat some junkfood. Whats important is eating more calories than you burn. As for training, a fullbody trainingprogram using only compound lifts is the fastest way to grow more muscle. Especially if you're an ectomorph (fast metabolism), since you can't recover from split training. How do I know? Experienced it, seen it and read about it too many times to count. The science really backs it up too. For example hst is a greate fullbody trainingprogram. They have a very friendly and helpfull forum that will answer all your hst questions. Tell them you have fast metabolism with a hard time gaining muscle(ectomorph), and they'll helpe you. Just google hst training, and youll find the site. Hope it helpes. Good luck :)

Weight gainer shakes. Get something that has complex carbs though. Should contain maltodextrin.

The stuff I got is called CytoGainer. 600calories per serving with 54g protein per serving. Works a hell of alot better than the regular weightgainers with just simple sugars.

Or you can always get meal replacement bars.

If you're 6-2, 205, you shouldn't have to gain weight. You should be a pretty good size unless you're just fat.

You're probably already at your ideal weight if you just want to bodybuild to pick up chicks. Most women don't like guys that are TOO buff. I'd focus more on maintenance if I were you.

And you would know right?

Dumbass. What the hell is maintenance? Seriously. Stop giving the kid retarted advice.

To the poster,

Yes, chicks appericate muscle. No you will never be too big. Why?

Because the huge guys are on steroids. That's why they baloon to such a size. Busting your ass in the gym with a clean diet, great training program and some supplements to fill gaps in your diet.. you will achieve a very modest physique. You will be buff, you will be faily large, but you will not be a giant among men until you start taking gear.

Now get out of here and go lift and eat properly. Get the best physique you can.

Absolutely untrue. Almost all professional bodybuilders would be huge with or without steriods. They are genetic freaks. The steriods only enhance their natural physiques.

To the original question: Lift heavy using a routine based around the core compound movements (deadlift, squat, bench) and make sure you are getting enough calories.

So then it wouldn't matter anyway. Can't get huge like the pro's anyway. There's no way you can get "Too Big".

And you have to realize the scarcity of such genetics. Extreemly few people posses such traits.

The elite, professional BB's, the ones you see on the covers of a lot of fitness mags, are gentically gifted, but until they start drug-testing, I estimate 100% of them to be juiced.

Compare Schwarzenneger to Ronnie Colemen. Coleman makes The Oak look small. In fact, many present-day BB's make Arnold look small.

Today's BB's are juicing more...year round, higher doses.
I don't know about higher doses. They're using more stuff. Now they have growth hormone, insulin, anti estrogens. They didn't have that in Arnold's time, all they had was simple stuff like Danabol.

And compare that with more knowledge about fitness... and you got yourself a pro.

Um, it's staying at your current size because won't you start to shrink if you don't give your body the stimulus to stay at its current size?

If i don't feel like muscle building anymore and want to play basketball everyday instead while keeping my current strength/size wouldn't i have a much better chance of that if i go in and lift what i normally do without totally busting my ass to make gains and eat at my body's current calorie needs (rather than more than) than just quitting lifting and eating completely?

p.s. If you're going to call someone retarded at least spell it correctly.

I've been thinking lately. It seems that everyone assumes everybody wants to be like some 280 lb monstrosity just because they're lifting/bulking up? I don't even want to be 250 or 230. There just seems to be this assumption all the time. I don't want to be anywhere near the strength/size of pros... or even Warboss Alex. He has the inner drive to just get huger and huger and eat insane amounts of food forever it seems.

I'd just like to be a nice lean guy who is pretty muscular. I'd like to continue playing center field in softball and being the fastest guy on the team who doesn't trip over his own muscles. My goal is maybe 210. I'm 181 now with a pretty low bf. Maybe at 210 i'll look at myself and decide if i'm satisfied with that... but i have no inner fire that says I want to be as huge as i can possibly be.. or i want to be bigger than every guy around. I just want to be respectably strong and big. Not to have some guy who has been lifting 20 years looking at my puny 210 lb 9% body fat body and acting high and mighty because my muscles are "barely worth mentioning." Sorry dude, i don't *want* to deadlift 500 or squat 700+ or whatever is considered big these days. I just want to get to a happy medium that allows me to continue to do all the other physical activities i like. Lifting isn't my life. It's just a hobby that i want to do correctly so i'm not wasting my time in the gym like so many guys who use it as "something to do" yet never get bigger and won't even listen when i tell them they MIGHT be better off not doing 5 different exercises of chest and then eating 50g of protein a day and proceed to make fun of me for putting olive oil or flaxseeds into my whey drinks.

I easily see myself getting sick of the lifestyle of having to eat ****loads all the time (and spending the money to do so) and forcing myself to the gym even on days i don't want to. I'm no where near that yet but the time will come and i'll be at a decent body size (in the average person's eyes... maybe not in a 250 lb gym rat's...) and i'll be completely content.

PS. I'm Canadian. This is how it's spelled here.

I can find "colour" in any number of dictionaries but not one mention of "retarted" in any of them. Care to enlighten? Although, I did find this http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=retarted. So i guess it's a case of misspelling easy words to look cool or something..?

This is a case of people spelling "congratulations" with a "d" even though when they shorten it to "congrats" they use a "t." Who knows why?

Are you aware of the effort required to get to 250 and 300lbs? Without being a whale? It becomes like a job to eat and train.

If you want to be athletic, you will be athletic. Don't be afraid of getting huge with your current lifestyle.

Don't worry, you never will be.

210 will take a lot of hard work and hard eating and it's a very respectable bodyweight to be at (if at a reasonable bodyfat) but just as bruce says it's impossible to blow up just like that. once you factor in how much food it'll take you to get to 210, and then remember it'll take a helluva lot more to get you to 220, 230, etc you'll realise it's not that easy. :D

to the original poster: I'm afraid there's no such as quick gains for you anymore. you're 205, you're verging on going against what your body wants. every lb will be a struggle - probably not what you want to hear but that's the truth.

you won't be able to get away with skimping on calories or missing meals, and if you eat the wrong foods you'll get fat because you're eating so much you're walking the tightrope of adipose deposition against muscle growth anyway.

just take it 1lb at a time my friend, do everything necessary to keep the fat off on the way and you will get there.

Bro, testosterone's been around since the 1930's, and by the 1970's, BB's had access to testosterone and other esters.

All Danabol does is bloat you like a pig. It'll put weight on you quick, but you won't keep all of those gains.

Yes, GH and insulin weren't available then, and I agree with you to an extent that increased physical training knowledge has made a difference inthe BB world, though not a significant one.
ok..... so why are you arguing if we're agreeing?
