Any Powerlifters in here? Do you compete? What are your maxes?

I started being interested in powerlifting in febuary. (I did bodybuilding for about 2 years before that). I want to compete later this year. my stats right now are.

Wt: 187
Bench: 325
Squat: high 400's
Deadlift: 550

Does anyone do "westside barbell"? I have been using that program for the past month or so and have been getting awesome strength gains.

If you are not ****ting us then your lifts are genuinely impressive as you are well past 1000. However, the way you said "westside barbell" and made it seem like a miracle makes your declarement sketchy. Are u past 18?

chances are you wont find any powerlifters here. there are too many pencil necks with the same ol' acne and creatine questions.

try the bodybuilding.com or the teenbodybuilding.com forums over there.

theyve got a nice program overthere. i like it anyway:p

ive made up my own program but it came from a few different ones.
monday on bench i do pyramids that go like this
5x105
5x105
4x125
4x125
3x145
3x145
2x165
2x165
1x185
1x185
then four sets of five reps on curls at 45, flys at 45, dips and pullups. the only things that change throughout the weeks are curls and bench.
wednesday bench and curls i do ten sets of my two rep max, same with curls. ill do one set of bench and then one set of curls back and fourth. the last time i did this i used 165 on bech and 50 on curls. ill probably use 170 on bench this week.
fridays are the same as mondays but ill throw in another lift. im not sure of the name but its an olympic lift where you start with the bar on the floor and in one smooth movement you put it over your head.
tuesdays and thursdays i do squats deads, weighted situps, weighted side bends, leg extension and leg curls, and usually some weighted box jumps.

Yea, I powerlift as of 2 months ago. However, I've been bodybuilding for 3/4 of a year.

Squat: 215x4

Deadlift: 235x4

Bench: 190x3 (I want it at 205x4 by mid may)

Bodyweight = 175 RAW, 200 with food, and water in me. (Yes, I eat and drink alot)

good numbers man, entering a few meets will be great for your training. ive been powerlifting for a few years now, my bests are

bench - 340
squat - 460
dead - 440
165 body weight, just a belt used on the squats and deads

i'm in med school now and the past few months were really rough on the training so my lifts are all down a little, but the school year is winding down a little and i've been picking it up the past week or 2, so hopefully i'll be able to get back near those numbers.

ive done the westside stuff in the past...it worked great for my squat but i had to play around with their bench stuff to get results. i still do speed work with the minis about every 2 weeks and alternate a bunch of more conventional stuff with their max effort work.
