Hey. I'm new to this site. Found it while searching around lol

I am MeteorMash

MMA is my new found hobby. I was always into the martial arts, and took several years of karate and wrestling. But I was looking for a way to increase my skill and fighting ability. I felt like the classes weren't doing it

And then I found MMA. So far I love it. I'm in the best shape of my life and I feel like i'm improving so much as a fighter. I've already had my first cage fight, which i've lost, but oh well live and learn. I'm currently in training for the next and planning to make a come back

Are their any fellow fighters here? If so, how do you train? what styles do you use? what is your record?

Lets talk MMA

when I was younger I did submission wrestling and grappling while the others did karate. I knew all the stuff before mma and ufc became popular and no one really knew what is was and couldnt defend it. now everyone says their a mma dude. now everyone copies what they see on tv. I always thought a tough guys that has grappling and submission and can throw a good punch has the upper hands.

I am 0-2 so far, supposed to fight again next month. That record stinks, but I went the distance in both fights and lost the decision. My second fight was three weeks after my first, and I had a half-broken foot that the x-ray couldn't yet see, so I just sat on the beach for those three weeks. That turned out to be not so bright. To say that I was tired is a ridiculous understatement; it was like an out-of-body experience...or maybe that was the concussion. The cage mat felt like it was moving up and down on hydraulics.

I did ok, though...left some *nice* marks on each of the guys I fought. I tend to get tunnel vision for one spot on the other guy and just pound away. I love the idea of painting a unique picture on the other guy, all in black, blue, and red.

I also work in promotions and ticket sales. If anyone is in the St Louis/Nashville area and wants to fight, I can help you out.

I don't, but have trained for awhile with a MMA fighter who fights on Versus...met him through one of my old lifting partners...dude pulled more chicks then anyone else I've ever seen. I won't give names for his own privacy,so you can believe me if you want.

His training style was more about conditioning then it was strength or aesthetics. Simple things-push ups, squats, lounges, dead lifts, tended to be higher reps if I remember correctly. It was like a year ago.

Not that it hurts being on TV, but yeah, most women go nuts for mma fighters, even the girls that don't like mma. They like it on a lot of levels, but I think most of it just has to do with being in the spotlight in front of a crowd. If a thousand people bought a ticket to see me sing & dance, girls would like that just as much.

Of course, there are guys who know that girls like fighters, so they either pretend to be fighters, or greatly exaggerate their own fighting prowess, giving rise to the popular term "mma douchebag." I know a lot of fighters, ranging from guys you are going to see soon in Strikeforce and the UFC to the much more common retarded idiot, and it is the idiots who do all the talking. A good rule is that the better someone is, the less they talk.

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

Yea, man. I can't stand idiots like that. There's even some in the class I take, so annoying.

I hate to say this but, I have friends how do this. They talk all day about how good they are, only to get there ass kicked in a fight. I tend not to brag because I know how much of a waste it is to talk when you can't walk. I'm nowhere near the best, but i train to get to that level one day

Anyways, this is slightly off topic, but You said all chicks like this sort of thing? My Girlfriend seems pretty adamant about stopping me from doing it because she "doesn't want me to get hurt" or "see me fight". She doesn't even really want to go to my fights, but will go anyway just because I asked.

If chicks like this than why the blatant distaste for having a fighting boyfriend?

It's the stress of seeing someone they love get hit. Mothers are the same way. After seeing how they reacted from being at my first fight, I don't want my family there if it stresses them out so much. My girlfriend's mom had never seen mma before; she got nauseous and had to leave.

If your girlfriend is not into it, then tell her she doesn't have to go. That is better than her being a distraction.
