have you guys experience frequent forgetfulness due to taking antidepressants? I seem to have that problem. I forget to bring along little things like car keys, contracts, or to say certain words.

The active ingredient in Effexor is Venlafaxine and there hasn't been any published side effects such as forgetfulness directly. However Venlafaxine has been known to cause serious side effects in a few individuals like fainting spells and difficulty breathing. These could be due to a rapid heartbeat or palpitations. If that's happens see a doctor immediately.

Some of the more common side effects include agitation, anxiety, or restlessness, especially in the first week of treatment or when doses are changed. Sometimes its common to have blurry vision and various "sexual difficulties." :nervous: Again if these happen, see a doctor.

Other side effects that don't require medical attention include the typical side effects of most antidepressants; dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness increased sweating, loss of appetite, loss of weight, nausea or tiredness, whew.

Try herbal stuff. St. John's Wort has good effect after awhile.

Also try to remove stresses from your life that could be causing depression. Because really.. depression is caused by stress, boith menatl and physical.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.
