ffs someone tell me a good one to do!
the general concensus seems to be to stay away from the traditional ones

is jujitsu any good/
i found a great book that iw as reading and it talks about maximimising strength with each blow, and reducing the effectivness of the oponen't s blows and stuff like that - currently got me hooked

am i wasting my time?

my end goal is to konw that if ihad to, i could kick a guy's ass out on the street

eg, at a club the other night, a friend of mine was workin his stuff (not too effectively ;) ) on some chjicks, and some thugs who had had too much to drink, started making out as if those girls were theirs. of course the chicks loved the drama or whatever, but my friend had to back down. and another time, 2 bastards tried to come up and threaten me, but my 4 other friends stood upbehind me, and they snickered and walked off. i wanna know that i could take out these motherf**kers out on my own if i had to

Yeah, I had a guy who had an arm around my head, he could have broken my neck anytime and I understood I needed to be able to defend myself. I checked around and looked into the newer martial arts, Krav Maga seems like a MA that is effective because it doesn't take so much time to learn. Besides that I'm gonna do kickboxing becasue the kicks are very alike.

Now people say Krav Maga doesn't work because there are anti-krav maga stuff people do in the ring, but in real life situations people are not even aware that you know it.

The reason my choice fell on krav maga besides it is quick to learn, it focus on real life threats and to adapt to the situation, it teaches how to defend against knife, baseball bats, guns... you know.. it seems good but I have not tried it, check it out anyway.

If Jujiutsu is alike ninjutsu, don't bother.

evolve, your second incident, sounds like all that was hurt was your pride. That's a good result.

Even if I was Bruce Lee, if I had someone verbally have a go who has ten mates with him, I would talk my way out of it everytime UNLESS there where signs that you were defo getting a beating, in which case a pre-emptive strike + rapid exit would be the answer.

I have experience of Systema, but not that keen. I like Krav Maga because it's gross motor skills and the training includes adrenaline work. I don't like the knife defence stuff though.

BJJ for groundwork, so long as you realise you don't WANT to fight on the ground.

I think Wing Chun is probably one of the most useful traditional martial arts, but it's club dependant.

Top tips for those with no training.

Walk/Run away whenever possible

Read stuff by Jamie O'Keefe, Geoff Thompson and Kevin O'hagen and Jim Wagner Stateside.

Remember simple and brutal moves. Such as Hammer fists to neck, side of head, elbows close in to neck/head. Knees, especially as they double over. AND keep on hitting them until you incapacitate them, unless you have multiple attackers.

If you can get on the Jim Wagner one day training modules.

The more fighting you do with lots of different people, the more you realise you really want to avoid it.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.
