Anabolic diet, carb up weekend, fish oil question..

On the weekends my micronutrients are supposed to be 60%(carbs)/30(fats)/10(protein).

During the week I take about 21g fish oil a day.. With the way my micro nutrients change on the weekend should I take fish oil then too or not?

I don't even count macros on the weekend, I'd keep the fish oil.
I just go full force on junk food high in carbs.
EFFORT told me to shoot for 10000 cals of anything!!! lol
I assume you're trying to gain.

I'm still in the maintenance part of the diet actually, not in the mass phase just yet. This way I get a bit of both.. I'm making gains and loosing bf. I still have hope I may see some abs before summer is over! :D

As for the fish oil.. Umm.. its supposed to help me loose bf and its a fuel source too.. so I'm thinking I should take it too.. duh me.

Anywho, how long have you been on it wolf116? What's your experience/thoughts on the AD so far?

From what i remember from all my readings about low carb diets, is that where people go wrong is just pigging out on carbs willy nilly during the refeed days. Yeah you're supposed to refeed, but overdoing the carbs will just put back the fat you lost during the week. You usually can't just eat cake all weekend.

Young guys with uber fast metabolisms are another story.

I'd keep taking the fish oil. I'm not sure why you'd even consider not taking it. It never would've occurred to me not to.

As Ruckus said, fish oil is good for your body every day, not just during the week.

If you're looking to save money, try using only half-dose on weekends.

As for the weekend carbups, I'd count the carbs on weekends anyways just to be certain. There's plenty of healthy foods that are carb/fat/protein rich that you can eat. I'd aim for 1.5-2x dailty calories on one day of the weekend, and do a moderate carbup the next day as well.

It really depends on your goals though. If it's fat loss, the best bet is to listen to your body. Are you feinding carbs on the weekend? Tweak your diet slowly so your body is satisfied but also YOU are satisfied. I'd recommend bumping your intake up 200cals each weekend until you've found a sweet spot.

I eat clean.. if I don't I tend to crash (fall asleep) and I don't want to spend the weekend sleeping.
As for fiending for them.. yeah not so much really. I was told that I should stop when my muscles round out but hell if I can tell when that happens. Someone else said to stop eating carbs when your veins aren't popping out still.. yeah well it depends on what I do if they are going to pop out or not (if I'm inactive they calm down.. if I do stuff they pop out again) so who the hell knows.. lol In any event I think I'm not eating enough due to the past few weeks of my workouts.

Last Saturday I ate a small sack of sweet potatoes (+butter and pepper), bunch o apples and bananas (and some whole wheat garlic bread). However Sunday was a family affair filled with tons of tasty grilled food I was not going to pass up.. so my second day of carbing was less then perfect. I also need to factor out the calories too. I'll do that this weekend and eat carbs on both days. I then plan to compare my gains this week vs next weeks (comparing the effects of different carb up weekends).

So we'll see how it goes.

Oh and yeah I'll take the fish oil. For some malformed reason I was thinking I shouldn't take it.. perhaps because its oil and I need to lessen fats on the weekend.. however that really doesn't hold up as an argument seeing as 30% can be from fats not to mention it helps me loose bf. To sum up, I'll take it.
