An unexpected benefit of OLD

My core group of friends and I are all single, and we're all having a reasonable degree of success with online dating, which is in turn changing the way we socialise together. It's Friday afternoon and none of us have any burning desire to hit the bars - all of us had dates this week (admittedly not everyone is getting laid....yet).

Instead, I'm heading around to S's place soon for some co-op zombie blasting, and then afterwards I'm off to G's to drink lots of bourbon,eat BBQ, and listen to his band jam. I'll sneak back home on my Vespa around 12, properly buzzed, and having spent a measly $20. No exorbitant drink prices, no taxis, no new clothes, no dead end conversations with unavailable women. Minimum spend on a typical "night out" would be $150 (not including any new clothes) Remind me, again, why I go to bars at all?

So, as much as I do love rubbishing the more absurd elements of online dating, the one thing it can do very well, is keep you from having to do things like go to bars, take yoga/salsa classes, or God forbid, completely forced cold approaches during the day....ugh...I think I just threw up a little bit. Properly done, OLD will give you more time and money to do things you genuinely enjoy.

A flawless plan except for the part where high demand women (the kind we actually want) have never, nor will ever use internet dating.

I guess if you've made peace with it and feel ok racking up the numbers with cluster B's , fatties, ex/practicing - carousellers and 3 different baby daddy mothers then it's not too bad of an existence for a modern man taking all things into consideration. ( Serious btw, if your having fun and just using it as a tool to throw a load off now and then it's probably a sweet deal you got going there compared to some of the alternatives.)

Not too far off at all. What is it Ayn Rand said, "you can lead, follow, or get out of the way". I'm all for getting the hell out the way personally - I know my place and my potential, and it's not at the top of the food chain.

But to the extent that you can online, I've always favoured quality over quantity. I'll take a dry-spell over a slore every time. Boy have I had some dry spells - more than anything else those layoffs are a direct result of the lack of "quality" women online, i.e. nothing I'd consider worth working at. Found some new niches though, so the getting is good for now.

Surprised you didn't weigh in on the recent e-harmony thread actually. That place surprised me, there are a whole lot of women making all the right kinds of noises if you're any kind of traditionalist (which I'm not, but I don't dismiss those views completely). Of course, it's another thing entirely to walk the walk.

I can't tell you where, that would be like throwing a needle in a haystack and me telling you to go find it. Besides I think I got the last decent looking traditional one they had left in the West anyway, I've made no secret the numbers it took to actually find one (it's embarrassing to be honest, I'm talking hope for humanity lost kind of odds). Best advice I can give is to look at her father. That will cut out a good 90% of the sh!t ones. A strong, driven, traditional old school alpha type she adores, fears and respects = 9 times out of 10 your golden.

However, I can tell you where you won't find these women, and that's among the duck face ****s posing with their raspberry coolers on POF. My 2 cents.

Exactly, the problem with going to the traditional watering holes to find b*tches is that there's a price for entry. OLD has none. And while yes, you won't find 8s through 10s online, and only occasionally a 7, if you're cheap and lazy like I am you can bang a bevy of 5s and 6s with no trouble. And you'll likely be a hero in her eyes just because you don't f*ck her friends (unless of course you do )

I've spent the last decade OLDing. Actually it's been like 10 years 2 months or so. I've banged about 3 dozen chicks in that time, ranging from 4 to (one) 8. Mostly 6s. Had a dozen relationships in that time too, most overlapping. Never dated only one woman at a time. It's been an interesting experience and the sheer abundance of p*ssy is quite liberating. But it is a bit of a crutch. It's made me lazy. If a chick doesn't bone down on the first date there is no second. And in fact, I've gotten to the point where if the woman doesn't talk dirty over email and make it clear she's DTF right away, I won't even bother going out once with her.

So OLD is IMHO like fast food. It's cheap, it's easy, it's abundant, and if you get used to it you can convince yourself that it's tasty. But you don't really have to step up to the plate and hit home runs to score. In that way I think it's detrimental to your game. However, I'm down the rabbit hole and I ain't ever coming up, so I guess I can't really judge. Of course I'm the kind of guy who prefers quantity to quality. There's just something about waking up one morning after boning some chick, saying "see ya later" and then going over to another chick's place and boning her. And then the next boning a different girl. I've been with 8s and even a 9 when I was young and I got sick of f*cking them. I like the variety, even if they're not my dream girls.

I will definitely keep the "fatherly advice" up my sleeve if I ever find myself wanting to wife someone up, sounds pretty reasonable.

Preaching to the choir in so far as PoF is concerned, I have a profile, but all of my lays and short term relationships come from other sites (some mainstream, some niche, none quite as outright trashy as PoF).
