Me and my girl (B) were walking in the park a few days ago. We were walking a guy called Stuart back to the University campus and then had a chance to be alone as I escorted B back to her home.

I had walked with her from halls, where we dropped Stuart off, through the park which is on the way back to her home, and we stopped in the middle of a path lit by a light and ambiented by the moon. Pretty nice, eh?

She closed in on me and we were about to kiss, but just before we did strange noises could be heard in the distance. It was very difficult to figure out what, but for a while we just looked at each other with confused faces. The mood was dead.

It sounded like a wounded animal constantly yelping, and I told B that we needed to check it out.

I walked in front of her and held her hand as we walked closer to the noise.

The path beyond was dark and muddy, unlit by any light source, and for all we knew the animal could be vicious.

We stopped because the noise stopped. B put her hands on my chest from behind and it was then that I realised one very important thing:

She felt protected by me

Of course! This is what women relish! A guy who knows how to handle an awkward and potentially dangerous situation when in the presence of a woman. A woman who has a true man to hold on to in confusing circumstances. Had this been any other guy, he would have run away, but it was me and she saw my actions - I needed no words.

So as I write my seven hundredth post I an pretty glad. Without sosuave and you guys, I would not be in this relationship. I would have messed it up on day one and given her flowers, written her letters and would not have known how to be the great kisser I am today :D

Transformation can be slow, but winning is not impossible. If you're feeling that the transformation is going slow for you, then just realise that success comes in bits, and nonetheless it is success and one day you will realise it. Keep going. Keep going.

Cool! I remember my ex used to tell me she felt so safe when I held her. Did you ever find out what the noises were coming from?

Nice going.

Next time you're in the park late at night make sure it's you two who are making the funny noises.

Goddamnit! the least you coulda done was come + help me get my leg outta that bear trap!

Create self-fulfilling prophecies. Always assume the positive. Assume she likes you. Assume she wants to talk to you. Assume she wants to go out with you. When you think positive, positive things happen.

Hahaha Walden

To answer questions: We couldn't look any further into the situation.

I congratulate you man, but deep down I don't think you think that's true. Of course, maybe I need to get those"broad muscular shoulders" you mentioned you have so that I can fend off those ferocious raccoons, or better yet-cats, in a similar situation.

yeah whenever you can find a way to show your woman your confidant protector side do it. pick up a snake, go into an abondoned building, whatever. it works wonders. this summer i went on a canoe trip in missouri. i was with my best friend and two girls that came down from michigan. we told them stories about how there were "suckerfish" that would suck on your toes and stuff and instantly we each had one of them clinging to us piggyback style.

the night heated up later on.

fearless investigator and protector are two extremely attractive male qualities.
