If you are embarressed about yourself, maybe you're really skinny, fat, zits all over your face, whatever, chances are you're not going to be able to change things over night, and even when do you start to work on those things, you're not going to be transformed into a Brad Pitt.

I've found an easy way that gaurentees you'll appear 100% more confident to the people in the room tham before. When you walk into a room/store/restaurant, pretend for the moment that you're the manager. I know it sounds silly, but it really works. I'm not saying go around asking everybody if they like your computers in your computer lab, but just act like you're the one running it. This will automaticlly change the way you glance at people, the way you walk, and your overall body laugauge. I've found that the looks I get from people are much more positive than before.

can you be any more specific? "acting like the manager" doesnt really tell that much

Ok, actually, this is how I kinda found out about this.

When I first started going to college a few years back my confidence level sucked. I would be embaressed about going anywhere, always looking down etc.

Now I have a job on campus, working in the IT department (computer lab), and not at the top yet but definently over some people.

I wear a badge and dress slightly better than the students. So now when I walk into the computer lab and head for front desk, I'm walking through looking at people almost as if I'm better than them. Without even thinking about it I noticed that my attitude, the way I walked, the way I looked and interacted with the people around me changed. I didn't know what it was at the time because I had never expierenced it but now I know it was confidence.

So now whenever i walk into a building or any other area of the college I just make it a point to act the same way I do as if I'm coming into work, walking into the room like if at anytime I could walk up to someone and say "exuse me, please take your feet off the keyboard" or whatever.

Even if it doesn't make you appear like you're higher/better than the others in the room, it will at least bring up your confidence level enough to not make you feel beneath anyone.

This is called the "i own the guy who owns this place" attitude. I naturally do it all the time :)
