im extremely busy workin 32 hours a week and going to school fulltime, so for the past month or so i've been doing:

40-50 crunches, 3 sets of curls, 3 sets w tricep bar, 30 pushups, run 30 minutes

i do this about once every 3 days, is it possible to get any results with this basic program i through together?

What are your goals? Building muscle, or losing weight?

Your current regimine seems pretty decent for losing weight, cause you have three 30-minute cardio sessions per week.

I don't know how much muscle you'll build, unless you are packing on the weights during your curls and tri work, and totally straining your hardest to complete the lifts.

If you want to gain muscle, that 30 minutes of cardio could be put to good use by lifting, instead of running. Do you have a gym membership?

Just some thoughts...

don't u have time to do better than this? u can't be that busy surely.

depends what u're trying to accomplish. i'd say u haven't completely wasted ure time, but u won't get maximum gains with whatever u want to achieve with this routine

If you want to gain muscle you could also do a full body workout three times a week for 45 minutes and get pretty good results from it if you're willing to adapt your nutrition (itd probably even be enough to just consume some more protein than you do right now).

If that's the case, then what about people who do each bodypart each day? Like Mon=leg, Wed=upperbody, Fri=lowerback and all other smaller parts.

I split my workout too. I meant to say that you could get good results by working out no more than 2 or 3 hours a week or so too, if you lift and eat properly.

No, you're not wasting your time. You could probably use your time more effectively (depending on your ultimate goal), but you're not wasting it as long as you're doing something.

If you want to gain a little muscle, you don't need to be doing bicep and tricep three times per week, and you need to do some weighted chest exercises. If you're looking to gain a lot of muscle, cut out the running (or cut it back significantly) and spend the time lifting.

If you're just trying to be in shape and maybe gain a little muscle, your workout isn't terrible...but you should probably throw in some leg, back, and shoulder (along with weighted chest). That will give you a more balanced workout. Also, it might be a good idea to cut the runs down to 20 minutes and use that other 10 for lifts...

that is a crazy schedule, but you're DEFF. NOT waisting your time...even if ur not gaining muscle, your keeping your body healthy, and you need that if you work as much as you do...if u didnt do those excercises, you would probably burn out of too much work. keep up the good work!

my ultimate goal is to build some muscle and tone up, my short term goal is to not be a scrawny ***** this summer. What're some good exercises I can do for back/shoulders with free weights or tricep bar?
