I suggest you get rid of the high school forum, or perhaps RENAME it to the newbie forum..b/c basically thats where all the inexperienced..simple redundant questions..are asked. You could newbie questions towards there.

the discussion forum basically..becomes..the advanced..or master forum, this will keep the discussion..of high caliber without diluted newbie crap

Tips are for tips..thats fine, the problem here..is half the tips..are crap, mods..need to do a good job of cleaning this out here.

Anything else should be merged with suggestions..as NSS..this forum, this would save bandwidth..and its a waste of space otherwise.

You can name the forums whatever you want, but bottom line is..high school forum..will be full of newbies. and redundant questions (and you were thinking about a newbie forum)..the discussion SHOULD be more..advanced.

This way..the forum will not be degraded..and you can concentrate all the NEWBIE crap into there.

I think the archives is great idea. HOwever..i think..that its being implemented wrong. You are simply bumping up good topics no?? there isnt really good any DISCUSSION going on there..just..bumping and "good post" and.hero worshipping.

I say get rid of the forum..or perhaps..make it something READ ONLY..like the hall of fame articles. Basically, i think..the all the great posts..tips..and good stuff from the past here..can be turned into a coherent thing. Ok, you have the archives..with contain good old posts., then u have..the DJ BIBLE..mainly about tips, and the all of fame. Organize an effort..to integrate this all into one coherent thing. I would..be up for creating an FAQ..that would have..be up on the top of the forum. I could incorporate..old posts, (which i think are in essence.."bible" material b/c..you can learn a lot simmply from reading other ppls STORIES), the bible..tips..and the hall of fame. It would be better organized..and instead..of forcing newbies..to search thru the dj bible.have..it PLAIN AND CLEAR for them to see.

So basically have

Beginners, Advanced, Tips, General talk and feedback, and moderators.

I totally disagree with cyc. The HS forum has as much intelligent DJ material as it does Newbie material and then some. Half of the stuff is identical to posts in the DJ forum. The real problem is Newbs not reading their HSDJ bible. I seriously think that there should be a newbie forum, and you can't post anywhere else until you have like 20 posts or so, just to get people somewhat well aquainted with the forum.

Sorry, cyc, I posted my suggestion before I read yours. I think the FAQ is a great idea. It would help people get oriented quicker.

Don't know about a newbie forum. I just talked to a newbie in chat last night who hadn't done any posting on the boards, yet it sounded like he knew what he was talking about and had a lot to offer right off the bat. He got registered that night, and said he posted his first post.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
