Its all over this site written in stone, "DO NOT TAKE FEMALE ADVICE!!!", but I found a nice little exception.

Shure that statement holds true, women don't know at all what they want blah blah blah, but this is where those really good female friends come into play.

Ask her what girls in school she thinks would be good for you. You may even be surprised because some of them you may think are pretty hot, but trust them on this their experts. This has been a smart little trick I realised today and think i'm gonna try out a lot more often.
