Hello All,

This morning, I was sitting outside, talking with someone. This girl I've seen for a couple months came by. Anyway, I started to talk with her. I asked her name, where shes from, how she likes where shes from etc. The other guy beside me started talking with us as well, and he would say something to me, I would go off on a tangent with him so I didn't seem like I was overly focused on her. For instance, this girl said "I'm a French TA ... etc.." I replied saying, "Is that in the linguistics department? And do you know Professor so and so?" The other guy who kept interrupting said, oh yeah that my dads friend. So I went off on a tangent about the professors son, and himself for couple of minutes so I didn't seem overly attentive to the girl. I noticed she kept interrupting me asking me questions like where am I from? What am I studying? How old I am? etc.. I was basically thinking, to myself the entire time, I'm the ultimate catch. I am not going to chase you.

I wanted her number, so all I said was, I got a lot of work to do, I'll shoot you a text, whats your number? She said she didn't have a US number, so she gave me her whatsapp. And she said next time we hang out she wants to introduce me to hr friend from Switzerland? But it's a guy.. Is this a no go.. Is this basically meaning, I only want to be friends? She didn't say boyfriend.

She is going to be leaving in a year, and i thought I could get lucky with her a few times before she leaves. Anyway, should message her in 3 days? I think whatsapp is good because it shows what time you come online, so if she replies, and i come online and dont reply back.. it would work in my favor.

Am I DJ'ing correctly? Where am I slacking? How to improve?

"I got a lot of work to do, I'll shoot you a text, whats your number?"

good. casual, no neediness.showed your time has value

need more info to be sure but could be a **** test or could be plausible deniability.

if shlt test, she wants to see how you respond to such a awkward request.
if plausible deniability, it simply means shed like to see you again and this is just the pretext to say anything but that. remember, women do not communicate OVERTYL like men. their intentions are displayed in their BEHAVIOR. not what they say
The first rule is to message 3 days after getting their number right?

By the way, she's 23 I'm 20. She's a masters student i think.

My gf’s dad is the same age as me. Awkward but need advice

I'm in a relatively new relationship. She's younger than me by 2 decades and we're currently in that stage where we introduce one another to our families. I have 2 cool kids who are okay with my gf who is only a little bit older than them. They're very supportive and it's great. We’ve only been skyping, My kids have met her through video chat and they’re excited to meet when I bring my gf over (she’s from another country).

The shock came when I learned that my gf's father is the same age as me He is a local cop in her town. I know it's hypocritical, but I'm a little bit weirded out and find it awkward that I'm going to meet her father soon.

I am a twice divorced male in my 50's and I'm nearing retirement. I didn't want to be alone for the rest of my life. I want someone by my side. That's why I gave online dating a shot. I'm not very savvy when it comes to the internet. I literally just Googled what I wanted, and AFA's website was first.

I met my girlfriend there. She was one of the few women I have messaged and was the most responsive of all. We were both tired of having our dating options limited to the local men and women.

I don't think I'm asking for much. I'm only asking for companionship, love, and someone to be there to share vacations and the like.

My girlfriend also said that the local men she has dated and her previous husband were no good. They're alcoholic and abusive which led to her divorce. She has a beautiful daughter and I've taken a liking to both of them. I want to have them over here in the US so we can be one happy family.

Am I overreacting? As far as I know, she's very independent and treats me meeting her father as a formality. I'm terrified of the thought of her dad putting our plans to a stop because he won't like me or think of me creepy. Please help me. Any advice you can give?

It's a test to see how you react.

Just tell her that's a good idea but you have a better one. You and her, pooling drinks and fun. Friday night at 8pm at x loc work for you?

Good see you there!

Do you think that gives her the opportunity to say this guy isn't confident. Do you think I have to be more assertive?
It's perfectly fine. You have to give her the opportunity to say yes or no. Any more assertive than what Gambino has written, I think it'll come across as off.

She said, "Ahh! how are you?!, I have to check for this week?"

- Taking this as a no. Didn't reply. What should I say? How do I reply to these types of flakes?

I'll just make her feel discomfort by not replying until tomorrow. She might change her mind you never know.
