Hello,
I am currently new to this discussion forum and to better introduce myself, I wish to present to you guys some of my issues ;) . My current goal right now is to be in great shape mentally and physically although a few extra pointers wouldn't hurt.

I am currently 16 years old and have a total lack of motivation and follow-through. I can barely follow a fitness program or anything for that matter and this lack of discipline is one of the main issues I'm still in this shape. I weigh 170 pounds, 5' 7" and I consider myself overweight because I have man-boobs, which some might say is caused by unstable hormones because I'm a teenager, but I think it's mostly fat layers stacked ontop of my pecs.

Since I'll be working part-time during high school and will only have a couple of days to spare, I kind of turned down the whole gym thing because I'll only have a 2-3 days of working out which I think is not enough for cardio as I want to burn a lot of fat.

I was wondering if it's really possible for me to get a decent fitness program if I go to the gym with this limited amount of time I have without quitting my job as I really need it to pull off one of my favorite hobbies: the stock market  .

Also, I would like to know how you guys do to keep up motivation and pull off all these wonderful changes as this is another milestone I wish to overcome.

I am looking forward to discussing with you guys and I'm really excited about changing myself right now. :D

2-3 days of weight training is great, that's all you need. Search "The Vault" sticky.
As for your cardio, do it in the morning before school or work.

Post up your full honest days diet so people can help you out

As for your moobs

When I was growing up, I can only remember one kid who had tits, and he'd get made fun of. Today it's epidemic. Ask any physical education teacher in schools. In swim class most of the boys are wearing T-shirts in the water to hide their moobs.

The first thing we do with men showing signs of female fat distribution is to access their zinc level. Nearly 100% of the population is severely deficient in zinc. The next step is to get them on natural anti-estrogens such as green tea, grape seed extracts, and resveratrol.

Probably you are motivated more about the results that on following through programs. Think about the result that you want and make sure that with each day you are closer to it. Forget about following scripts that worked for others in the past.

Hmm well at your age it might be a little harder to set a 'groove' for yourself to follow. The biggest part of training for me is the commitment and dedication and I know at 16 I was all over the place in regards to my time management.
Personally speaking the motivation is self-evident. If you REALLY follow through with it you'll see change in all aspects of your life, getting in shape isn't only physical it also can boost your confidence ten fold.

Okay so your worried about your time. This is easy, you only really need to work out 3 times a week, esp. if your just starting out. 2nd biggest misconception is you need to spend over an hour at the gym for any results. This is false, and can actually work against you in the long run (over-train).

Check out Rippetoes workout for beginners its simple, and the workout targets the whole body (push/pull) instead of that isolation crap.

As for cardio, if your really serious about it, it wont be hard to find time to run, jump rope, whatever.

Lastly is nutrition, make sure your eating right or all your work is for nothing...
