Actual "pimps" who get prostitutes to work for them

I've always wondered, how does one become an actual pimp who has prositutes working for him? How does it work? How is it a guy is able force a woman to prostitute herself and control her?

Many prostitutes start out very young, as runaways, from broken homes. The pimp comes along, befriends them, treats them special, protects them, almost like a surrogate parent...then askes a "favor" in return. After a relationship based on need is established.

The girl turns her first trick. The pimp reassures her, manipulates her into thinking she's worth value as a person. The pimp makes her feel cared for, something that she was missing from her broken home. She keeps turning tricks, to make him proud. He possibly gets her hooked on drugs too. Anything, to keep her needing him.

It's a viscious cycle that exploits our youth. These pimps, imo, should die a slow death.

And just as any industry, if there's a demand, there will be a supply. That's why I feel that men who purchase the services of a prostitute like this, should die a slow death too.

As with anything, there is varying levels of this. High class escorts many not fall under this catagory, I don't know.

True prostitution is a victimless crime, an act between two consenting adults. But, when it's put on the black market, that's when it's based upon exploitation and the "ruining" of young lives.

I personally think, a lot of this could be avoided, if the government would simply legalize prostitution, in certain areas (like amsterdam).. heavily regulate it, and tax it. I think that would be a step in the right direction to help prevent some of these problems. Prostitution would then be a matter of choice, not based upon need. But that's my opinion.

If you look at the big picture and think about it, we're just about all basically being pimped by someone or maybe by multiple levels. The government to a large extent pimps us with taxes and spending that doesn't benefit you or maybe to fight a war that doesn't benefit your country or you, maybe your employer is your pimp in a dead end job, women might pimp you for your time, efforts and directly or indirectly for your money, etc. Really the only difference is they might not try to use you for your sexual services but they may strong arm you into giving over your time, effort and money, so basically it's about the same principle.

I don't think true prostitute/pimps are that common, and the ones out there I think operate under the way Mr. Positive explained. Although I'm not totally convinced that these women don't want to be pimped. The tales of women willingly to be involved in abuse of relationships are many. I think most of pros. are independent or operate under a somewhat reputable agency. And I agree legalizing prostitution would improve and clean it up.

Yeah but, how many of these men even know what goes on behind the scenes? The greater majority of these men(and people in general) are oblivious to how a pimp works..so how can you point fingers at them? I know I would've never known these things, hadn't you told me.

It's the same way a guy gets a woman to buy stuff for him. Just get a woman that's desparate and has low self esteem, shower her with compliments that she hasn't heard, and then get her to do something for you to get more "love."
