part of it is true men do things and bear his consequences be it good or bad, but also saying we don't have fun? we do most things because we do find it fun, build a rocket to send something to space? sure sign me up, lets tune this car so it can run faster? or the good and old "doing this is boring/ annoying, it have a better way to do it" (this is what most inventions happens someone lazy to do a chore find it a better way and he find it to be fun in doing so).

so finding fun on things you do is a good way to have a better life. its also a kind of a motto on dating, most here says its a game have fun on it. FUN is the keyword on you doing things you like you still have the duties, deadlines, problems to deal with, but we need to have fun or what is the point?

If you operate on values you will get CRUSHED in the real world. You got to operate on negotiation, wittiness, outsmarting the opposition. If you operate on "values", people will tell you what you like to hear, take half your money and laugh at you. The world doesn't work on a "value system", it works on a "need" system.

You can have tons of fun and be a man, one has nothing to do with the other.

No, I think that he is saying that sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do. He has responsibilities he has to live up to. If he has a child that needs a kidney transplant, he has to rise to the occasion to make that happen. If the roof leaks, he has to make sure it is repaired. Etc, etc.

I disagree with this. I have values I don't like to compromise on, and I've been quite successful. Partly because I meet my obligations. If you are a businessman, then you will lose your reputation if you do not conduct yourself honorably. Just be realistic.

I can tell you from experience, that's the basis of all liberal arts education. If it's not math or hard science, which are fields dominated by Indians and Asians even in the US, then academia teaches "grey thinking." I can also tell you that law school mandates it; anyone who says there is one right answer gets a maximum score of 50% and flunks out. I probably know a hundred attorneys. I can think of one of them who I'd say isn't a grey thinker. He works for a DC non-profit that promotes religious freedom.

It seems to me, that at this point, the law states: Either she said Yes, or she didn't.
