I'm not sure what they're called, but they're like pads or belts that stimulate the muscles with electrical currents.

Has anyone tried these and are they actually any good for bulking or toning up?

I would not recommend them for bulking! Those people modelling for the TV-shop commercial did not use this ****, they used free weights.

* You will not develop stabilizing muscles in the same way as lifting

* The resistance will not be enough for you if you want to bulk. Think about lifting a 250 lbs weight and getting current through your muscle, you would need a car battery yanked up your ass to get that effect.

* It will take a ****load of time to train all the muscles since you will only be doing isolation training instead of compound training.

* Training at gym isn't just about getting bigger muscles, it is a test on personal determination, pushing your limits with weights so you can push the limits everywhere else in life. If you can lift a heavy challenging weight, you will feel everything around you, all problems will be easier to face.

That is the drawback I find with them, I have not tried them so I only speak in my opinion why I haven't bought them.

If those devices actually worked, then everyone would be running around with a siz pack.

Thanks for the responses. I did try one of these once, it left me aching, but I find I get more results from working out with dumbells in my room.

Bruce Lee used them, but it sounds kinda dangerous to me. There could be a risk of getting cancer, but probably no more than sitting in front of a television set. And if you smoke, thats no big deal anyways.

The real question is does it work? I doubt it. Do some resisted ab crunches and you'll get there much faster anyway.

If you don't have weights, try this book: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews19887.html

Using Mr. Wongs method my skills as a martial artist have improved substantially. He also has a video out on the Dynamic Strength method of training.

Ok.. I was'nt really going to reply.. But it seems I am the only one who actually purchased this.

I've tried it, and yes, it does work. But i DO NOT reccomend it.

I'll try to keep this short.

~It hurts like hell; Think extreme cramps (Words cannot express)
Now, i'm not a sissy baby, but the pain left me and my bro in tears in intensity 10.

~No matter what they say, only use it in the abs. Very dangerous to use it in the chest, think about it.

~It may leave burn marks. It left me with some light red burning in my abdominal region

Further more I really could go on and on but I don't feel like it since I have done this discussion to death several times at my bodybuilding forum.

My conclusion: Bodybuilding requires effort, dedication and determination and discipline.
