Here's a story,
Me and a friend are at a bar last week chatting away and we spot a couple really into each other standing at a table. She's pretty cute, brunette, early 30s and attractive. He's a little older. They are kissing, laughing, holding hands etc.etc. totally fixated on each other. My mate, now obviously takes a fancy to this girl and is debating whether to make a move on her.
I tried to tell him to forget her and seek out others. 'You don't want to cut another mans grass so to speak'.
Besides, there were plenty of girls around and he couldn't just break up their 'connection'. He was being majorly ****blocked. Plus I didn't want to play wingman and start a convo with that guy. My friend agreed but I knew he was gonna make a play on her.
I told him to be prepared for a reaction from mr lover and could be on the receiving end of a few punches if he really wants to engage with her.....understandably, after all they could be married or whatever.
Anyways, we are mingling away with others and the said guy leaves the room to use the toilet. Quick as a flash, my friend heads over to the girl and starts making her laugh. In the corner of my eye, literally within a short space of time, I notice them touching each other, she's playing with her hair and they eventually start kissing on lips. The girl gives my friend her number.
All in a few minutes.
I would normally ignore it and go about my own way and chat with others but I kept a watchful eye cos I knew something would happen. I'm sensing trouble.
What happens next - yep, the guy comes back from the toilet and witnesses my mate and his girl. He goes mental! He's pushing my friend and trying to throw in a few haymakers. I step in the way to break it up. Everyone in the bar is watching and is causing quite a scene. The barmen eventually grab the poor guy and take him away.
The girl doesn't even flinch. They have a massive argument, he grabs her hand and they both leave the bar together.
All in a few minutes.
Afterwards I start to think how this unfolded. Obviously, her natural attention gratification kicked in, my badass friend's selfish attitude struck a chord with her and this seemingly cool guy caved and let all this affect him which I can understand to a certain extent. My friend was out of order in a way but I guess he went after what he liked.
For all I know this couple could have been on a first date, randomly met up on the night or been with each other for months or years. I'm guessing it's long term since the way he grabbed her to leave the building.
The point is though that my friend managed to flick on her attraction switch within minutes. Regardless of her situation....or the guy.
And I wasn't surprised one bit.....well, only that my friend didn't get beat up. He deserved flak.
Plus it created a nice little way to get chatting to the other girls in the place. Women really love drama. Make the most of it to your advantage guys.
Just watch out for the red flags.
