Don Juan
I'm trying to clarify something I was reading in the DJ Bible and in a few other forums about eye contact. What concerns me wasn't stated explicitly anywhere (or I missed it), so I was hoping all y'all can help me out.
The whole key to the eye contact thing is to lock when the woman you want to make eye contact with is a fair distance away (> 30 feet), right? That part is easy enough, although once in a while I noticed that I'm tempted to look away. I am trying to overcome this.
So, what about the case when she never looks up? I work at a university medical school, and there are several women walking the halls all the time. The problem is, they are rarely looking up! Most of them look down when they walk, and a few of them who look straight ahead seem to want to avoid eye contact no matter what. I don't know if it's shyness, fear of being hit on, or they're just lost in some important thought. Once in a while, I encounter a woman who is looking at the people around her, and so EC and greetings are no problem. Note: taking it beyond that step is something I'll start working after I figure out this quandary.
So, here is the part I don't get:
How do I get around this? Is it fair just shake them out of their daze by saying "Hi" or other greeting? I normally don't like to interrupt people, but it seems that some of these ladies don't want to be bothered.
Can youse guys help me out?
Thanks.
