I had noticed a pretty girl in class for several weeks, but I was avoiding going up to her to say "hi". I was waiting for the 'right time'.. past experience should tell me that this concept of a 'right time' would never come. My friends had already met her and swarm around her in class.

One week ago, realising that this 'right time' would never come. I went up to her in class and said "hi, what's your name". She tells me, and that's that. Geez, was I all that worried about just to find out her name? I have insecurity issues

The point is, once I met her, it turns out that she's very nice. Just because she was a hottie doesn't mean she was out of my league. What I'm thinking is why didn't I approach her sooner? And in my case, it was just to say hello. Ignoring the three second rule is very stupid on anyone's part.

3 second rule - where upon seeing a hottie, you wait no longer than 3 seconds before approaching to say hello. Almost infallible in getting you off your arse if you follow it. Don't make excuses. See hottie, 1, 2, 3 seconds, walk up - "hello".

Realise this, the things you regret most are the things you don't do.
-----------------------------------------
Please make some comments on my first tip. I would prefer comments on your own experiences of similar situations. What did you say, do. Did you hesitate and end up regretting it, or did you follow the 3 second rule?

Usually for me is:

See HB, grab balls, image check, approach.

Arctic Fox may be joking when he says "grab your balls" but I really do.

I'm serious. It's actually a bit of a boost up. Kind of like "Yup, they're there, I'm a man, go for it!"

Grabbing your balls isn't recommended in a classroom. With nearly a hundred (or a thousand, depends on uni) eyes in the room, a few are bound to see your hands go down there.

If you're just scratching it looks natural. But if you just grab it......
