For any of u guys who dont know what it is, it is just basicly the shrinking, or destruction of muscle tissue. I was wondering if anything know foods or drinks slows or stops growth of muscles or actually reverses it. I heard something about Mountain Dew causing muscular dystrophy? Probably a load of crap, but its got me wondering. Can foods or drinks cause muscular dystrophy?

Sorry bud, cant answer your question, very interesting topic though.

At a guess.. i dont think that there would be anything that could stop the growth, but im sure that there would be things that slow it. I suppose that if you can promote faster muscle growth.. you could do the opposite to an extent.. not sure.. just rambling now.. hahha... great topic..

interested to see if anyone else has more knowledge!

Sure. Mountain Dew - as well as other carbonated beverages, store bought drinking water, ginger ale, and the like all contain the solvent Toluene and Xylene. They're both brain-seeking solvents which cause Alzheimer and/or MS disease and muscular dystrophy.

As for the amount of each you'd need to possibly get one of these diseases, I'm not sure - but I know that if you google it long enough, you'll find research that can answer the question further.

Yeah - but in what quantities? This is just another example of how a person or organization could potentially take facts/numbers that could be interpreted in a variety of ways, then paint some sensationalistic, paparazzi-style 'expose' to mislead people.

We are always inhaling, ingesting and absorbing materials that are potentially toxic to us. There are moelcule of radioactive isotopes/elements in the air we breathe. You see your white stucco walls and pretty painted ceilings? Asbestos baby. The hamburger you had today? From a cow that ate grass that is downriver from a waste processing plant. The lake you swam in during Spring Break with your pals? Also 'contaminated' with trace elements of toxins. The simple fact of life is that we're exposed to elements that are potentially lethal to us.... IN THE RIGHT DOSES. There may be a couple of parts PER MILLION (BILLION?) acetone in our drinks, but it's not enough to kill us, unless we drink BATHTUBS of Mountain Dew every day for the next 30 years.

So quite worrying about idiotic shyt like this, and just enjoy life. Stay active, try to eat a balance diet, and that's that. You'll live as long as your genetics are designed to let you live.
