The discussion forum seems to have become a haven for newbies...who keep posting the same questions again and again.
So a newbies section with some of the most important posts from the DJ bible stickied over there should be seriously thought about. Some of the newbies dont know about the bible and are too taken in by the size of the bible to pursue it actively.

Plus having a newbies forum will raise the quality of posting in the discussion forum.

We already have one

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Highschool Forum. :D

Seriously, though, the HS forum is where a lot of the "newbies" probably 'belong', and I wouldn't doubt that it's a good indication of what would happen with something like a newbies-only forum.

Besides: only newbies would post in a newbies-only forum. Newbies would never get any helpful or meaningful replies; they'd just argue amongst themselves until they sired an entire generation of Super-wussies, then they'd corner the cheese and whine markets.

If anything, a Forum holding the posts of the DJ Bible alone (like the Archive, but... well, not ;)) would be a better alternative.

Well, first off I consider the HS forum to be of high quality. There are a few newbies here and there but the HSF doesnt seem to be flooded with inane questions like Penis size :)D) etc etc.

Having a newbies section would be something akin to having an active DJ bible. The newbies could read the stickied posts which would shed light onto their mistakes. At the same time, having a newbies forum would intially mean getting the same questions again and again to which the regulars could respond.Soon the pattern of question would become uniform throughout as the newbies would help out other newbies via us.The repetitive questions may slow down to a trickle as they would have a whole forum to which some of their most obvious questions already answered (which holds true even now....but well...this just makes my point seem nice :p )

Having said that, lets see what others have to say.Maybe it is rather Quixotic of me to think that we might escape the newbeomania afterall..l..
