I was having lunch today and when i looked and the nutritinal values of it, i thought, wow you people trying to gain mass could benfit from this food. Tuna! it has 27 grams of protein per 100 grams which is a lot, not much carbs which although i have lots of carbs, you guys seem not to want, it has 9 grams of fat per 100 grams this is far far to much, but then i remembered this fat is mostly contained in the oil which you can drain out.

Drain the oil out of tuna and you are left with a low carb low fat high protein snack.

Tuna in brine or springwater should be a bodybuilding staple (or in olive oil for a pro/fat meal), as it is a very cheap and tasty source of protein. Don't rely on it alone however, include a variety of proteins in your diet.

The thing that i realised thou is that unlike most meat, tuna seems to be full of protein, most meat has a fair bit of protein, tuna seems to have a hell of a lot more.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

9g of fat per 100g isn't too much.

Unless you're a pregnant woman then I wouldn't worry too much - it's much like the government scare on eggs/cholesterol, blown out of proportion when there really isn't much to be concerned about.

I go through a dozen eggs and two or three cans of tuna every day and I'm perfectly healthy.

This cracked me up... mostly because after I clicked the thread (hoping for some new insight) all I could think was... "um... duh?"

Seriously though... don't worry about the mercury. I eat tuna every day, sometimes multiple cans (sometimes STRAIGHT from the can :p) and I've never had any symptoms of mercury poisoning. Not everyone likes it though... course, when I'm bulking, eating generally becomes pretty "not fun" anyway.

Tuna has long been a favorite protein source for bodybuilders, dieters, and other athletes. It's cheap, fast, portable, and pre-portioned into convenient sizes. Did I mention it was cheap? The fact is, it is a great source of protein and omega-3 essential fats and it makes a great snack too.

Solid white albacore can taste great all by itself if it fits your budget. If not, here are a few "straight outta the can" recipes you can use to bring a little life into your next can of tuna (or canned chicken)...

There are tons of other resources out there regarding the benefits of tuna, as well as different manners of eating it. The ones I linked to are just from one single site. You should be able to take it from here.

I'm amazed you didn't find out about tuna earlier - but then again, you know what they say. Better late than never.

Another thing; tuna can come in oil or water. Obviously water will have far, far, far less fat than the oil alternative.
