my opinion: I'm sure that there was some man that you had blown off 30 years ago that was wondering the same thing. Karma.

More and more women

Are rediscovering what wasn't cancelable "offense" to utter out loud, in the not-too-distant past

I think Nancy Pelosi is a great role-model for women that want it all - start her career with the intention of marrying a peer (or higher), then check out of the career while she has kids, and once the last one is 13, go back to the career, staying in that career for as long as she need to feel like she has had a "fulfilling" career. Too bad that American employers hate hiring older folks.

And a piss-poor one for anyone who wants to be a genuinely honorable and effective civil servant  o_O

All levity aside: While it's too late for those women who are die-hard converts to Woke Thought, younger women today still have a shot at dropping all that nonsense into a dumpster, then enjoying first-rate lives

Something similar happened at the end of The 20th Century: Chicks who'd bought into Feminist hookum hook, line, and stinker ended up the sort of gals explored in the writings of dissidents within The Women's Movement

*

Whereas those who refused to buy into everything they heard, or were too young to be heavily poisoned, fared pretty well

*"Underlying much of the tension of The Heidi Chronicles is how success differs for men and women. Though it is known from the prologue of the first act that Heidi has a successful career as an art historian, the play focuses more on her success as a feminist and autonomous person; unlike the male characters, career success for Heidi does not equal a fulfilled life

As Heidi’s generation demanded, she became an independent woman in a male-dominated world. Yet this success seems hollow to Heidi near the end of the play. She hoped that feminism would provide solidarity with her fellow women and offer significance in society, but her reality has proven this false. Her women friends have bought into superficial happiness and material success: Susan Johnston changes identities frequently, going from an idealistic law student to a feminist to a Hollywood power broker; she ultimately becomes disenchanted with the feminist cause and insensitive to her friend’s problems. Heidi also has little luck with men, sustaining no real lasting relationships and ultimately having her life choices shaped by them. Only in her decision to adopt a child does Heidi achieve an independent success"

Wasserstein's heroine back in The 80s had the exact same revelation that chick who wrote the aforementioned tweet

Are experiencing today, in other words

Attraction is not a here and now choice. Having a feeling of being attracted to something is a reaction and a reflection of who you are. Don't blame women for not being attracted to you or other men.

Her political positions aside, she has done a very good job of merging a career with being a mother.

Read the portion of my post which begins with the words "All levity aside..." That's where the discussion really becomes invigorating
