Well, the thread title pretty much explains it. I'm pretty un-confident when it comes to approaching girls, seeing as I have no job right now, and live with my parents.

I just don't believe any attractive girl would be interested in me right now.

I was going to join a gym, in fact, in order to socialize a bit more and possibly meet girls, but the fact of my situation even discourages me from doing that.

Is this stupid of me? Should I approach girls anyway? Should I still join a gym? Maybe I should just lie when a girl asks me what I do? Or should I wait until I get a job and a place of my own?

I mean, I'm a pretty good looking guy, and in good shape.... I just feel that it would be very difficult for me to bag chicks in my current situation.

I've pondered all of this and would just like to hear some helpful feedback.

Well first of all, get yourself a job. You need money to go out and to go join a gym. Living with your parents isn't such a bad thing. You can always go to her place, and you'll save money anyway sicne you won't be paying rent. If you're planning to join a gym, do it to get bigger. Don't join to meet girls. Girls at the gym concentrate on their exercises while they are there, most don't plan on getting hit on. If you stay disciplined in the gym your confidence will go up. Read up on these forums as much as possible, and go out and perform what you read.

living with your parents isnt such a bad thing these days, especially if you're a college student living at home. I know a ton of girls who live with their parents at ages 22 23 and above even, so why shouldnt it be okay for you to live with yours?

With today's crappy job market and expensive tuition, its more common than it used to be. Since your target market of women is 18-21, its not a big deal.

If you were, say, 25+, its going to be a problem, but you still have a couple more years of free passes on this type of stuff.

You also may wish to consider dipping into the pool of high schoolers, 17 and 18 year olds, if this is legally appropriate in your state. They will be totally non-concerned about this.

400 a month? Wth you gonna buy with that, I spend almost that much on gas =(

But I do still live at home, but have 3 jobs. You can get a girl just fine, just might not be able to take her anyplace great. But parks are free, and getting it on in your car is pretty damn cheap.

If you're 20 and you live at home and don't have a job and all you're worrying about is girls, then maybe you should reprioritize.

At this age a girl WILL go for a dude that lives at home, but she'll vastly PREFER to have a guy who has grown up some. A guy who can keep a decent job and pay the rent by himself.

Living at home and not having a job is fine when you're sixteen, but you're twenty, man!

But if you're in college living at home is fine. I just know I PERSONALLY feel like a bum when I don't have a job. Even when I AM in school.

I know finding a job sucks, but its just one of those things you have to do.

I'm 22 and living at home, but I'm also in college with a full time job on top of it. Living at home is definitely a major burden for someone my age, even though I'm a college student. My parents are religious and are DEAD AGAINST pre-marital sex, so that's another major problem. I live in an area where getting a job is extremely difficult. But I still manage to get one with enough persistance. Just go out and find a full time job. If you don't meet many women, I'd recommend finding a job where people your age work (restaurant, grocery store, etc.) The wage won't be that high, but it will do wonders for your social skills.

It's not a problem at all man, it's all in your head. It's a glass half full/half empty issue, instead of justifying against, justify FOR!
