It's been 2 weeks and I've been sticking to my 5 day split...

...but nothing has happened. I can see a teeny weeny bit of difference in the mirror, but my %bf is still at 16% according to my scale.

what's wrong? is it my diet?

I've just recently be introduced to the idea that eating TOO LITTLE can hamper fat loss. According to my fitday I eat about 1300-1400 calories a day which might be too litte. Let me know what you think about this. thanks guys.:woo:

Do you people expect results by yesterday?

LOSS OF BODYFAT TAKES 3-4 MONTHS. (doing it the slow, steady way with no to minimal muscle loss)

If the mirror shows improvement, then you're on the right track! The mirror never lies, the scale often does.

And yes, I reckon you're eating far too little. When I 'cut' *washes out mouth*, I eat exactly the same as I do the rest of the time, I'm just more strict with my carb cutoff and don't indulge in fast food or ice cream etc - that way I feel fine, continue to grow muscle and still lose fat.

That's definitely too little. I'm cutting right now, as well, and I've lost about 2-3% (now at 16.5%) bodyfat and 9 lbs in 2 weeks. I am not counting calories one bit. I am simply eating only lean meats, greens, eggs, low-carb foods and condiments, occasional protein shakes in milk, tons of AriZona diet green tea, and lots of water. I also do not workout on any set split or even on any set "day" schedule. I do whatever I feel like on any set day. My workouts consist of weightlifting, kettlebells, and I do cardio on the side. I OCCASIONALLY sprint, but not in HIIT form, only to enhance my kettlebell workouts.

How much do you weigh, anyways? I'm now at around 216 (depending on daily fluctuations, which go from 214 to 218) at a height of 6'1.

Measuring your BF% with a scale is just about the most worthless thing you can be doing right now. If you're really so concerned about numbers you should buy fat calipers. Warboss is right, the mirror doesn't lie. If you've gained 5lbs but look a little better, chances are that's muscle weight. Muscle weighs more than fat. Also, make sure you only weight yourself once a day, and at the same time every day. Otherwise your weight will fluctuate and you won't be able to accurately gauge your progress.

I'd only weigh myself once a week, or even less regularly!!

Exactly, all scales are usually crap....If u need to direly use one, take a shower first 2hrs after a meal and 30min-1 hr before you consumed a liquid.......that should give u the best est since scales operate by firing electorodes up and down the body and based on the amount of time it takes to go up and down ur body, indicates your bodyfat.

I dont know how u lost 3% bf in 2 weeks as thats too much......as one user said, it takes months to lose it.....

Height: 6'0

In Dec 1 I was @ 24% 225lb
April @ 17-18% 200lb
July @ 13-14% 190lb ;)

in about 8 months I lost 10%, so by my diet, 1.15% a month. It helps to work out as well as cardio.

About the mirrors, they certainly dont lie however, you will never observe yourself losing the weight.....only time i could see how much better I looked was 1) reactions of people 2) old pictures

I recalled looking in the mirror every week for 5 months and noticed nothin even tho i lost an enormous amount of weight. Now i dont use the mirror to check.

Fat burners at 17? Forget about it. Not necessary! You're not a pro bodybuilder remember.

Green tea is fine, drink it before cardio and throughout the day.

i hope this thread is a joke like honestly 2 weeks common. expect results after 3 months, and these will not be huge results either, unless you really get all aspects down 100%.

Damn metal...........

..........what a crappy scale.:p

So yeah, chill out people. It's natural for people to want more results. The lowest I've gotten by bf by scale was 15.9% and that was after a week of INTENSE dieting like watching my macros like a vulture. Hehe, this is going to take a while.

It's 5:12 AM ... OFF FOR PROTEIN OATS AND CARDIO

So you're gonna burn your protein and oats off doing cardio?

I hope you're doing HIIT.

haha, I'm honestly starting to think you're a protein salesman Warboss, lol. Yeah it's expensive, but it's a useful product that lasts a long long time, and you only have to buy it once.

Pff. Shipping costs make ordering from Dante kinda expensive. :(

But sometime soon I'll order me some trueprotein, just outta curiosity. I tend to get kgs and kgs of the unflavoured stuff from a reasonably cheap uk company.. works fine for me, and there's money saved for steak.

:D
