So, going to an 18th party with 3 other mates, don't really wanna cling to them though, I'd rather go socialize with others.

But I'm not too sure how i go about doing this, apart form the 3 I'm going with, I doubt anyone there will be the same age as me. Considering it's an 18th...theres most probably going to be 17/18 year olds, but i don't know how to create a conversation with them.

In my opinion 15 - 18 is the biggest age difference if you know what i mean, like 22- 25 are pretty similar as most people that age are doing the same thing, where as a 15 year old wont be in college/university, so i don't know how to go about creating rapport with them.

I've only really hung out with other 18 year olds once when i went to a gig with my brother and his two mates, so i dont have much experience with them . I had a good conversation with one of them about music and stuff, but didn't really speak to the other one, may have been due to the fact that i was stoned when i was talking to him and i tend to go quiet when I'm stoned for some reason.

I'm not looking to go pick up chicks lol, just make some conversation with boys and girls to improve my conversational skills.

any tips/advice is appreciated :D

It is as you make it to be. If you think 18-year-old guys are on a different level than you, they are.

It's no big deal. Just think they are your age; asides from different interests (you'll find differences regardless of age) there aren't that much differences to pinpoint between 14 to 18 year olds (asides the physical part of it, obviously). If you act chill enough and brush it off like it's nothing they may even think you are older than you are. Age is not an issue.

Have fun.

It's all about mindset. My clique is mostly made up of guys that are between 19-22 but I roll with them just fine. Like someone else said just try to imagine that they were 14 or 15 years old, though don't try to act like you're above them that'll probably piss them off. I remember a 16 year old tried hanging out with me and my friends and he tried doing that, and he got jumped.

When, I was 18/19 years old I sometimes went to partys with guys in the 20's and 30's. Sounds kind of weird... But, some of them liked me and called me up to hang out with them if there was a party. Since, they were older they got me beer so I didn't mind.

Just be cool and conversate with people.

Exactly, the reason why some people can't hang with chillin' with older people stems from them. They're intimidated. But if you're cool with it then they'll be cool with you.

I considered not going today. Had a fight with my bro, ended up with bruised knuckles and was in a proper **** mood.

In the end i decided to go, and I'm really glad I did :D .

The plan was to chat to some people older than me and just improve my conversational skills/ have fun. I definitely did the latter, but not so much of the former.

It was the first party I'd ever been to and I'd never thought of myself as a good dancer. At first i was pretty shy on the dance floor, but when they started to play my songs i just loosened up and didn't care what i looked like and just danced with my mates on the floor. I think i did a pretty good job too lol.

I spoke to a couple of people there, but it was hard too as the music was so loud, I would have got some convo's on the go if there was a chance too.

I was thinking about dancing with some girls but i would've felt kinda retarded if i did lol. These girls, from my school, were like reallllly sexy. I'm not just saying that, seriously, the ugliest girls there were about a 7 and there were quite a few of 10's there. These girls were all my from my school, and were not only really sexy, but over 3 years older than me so i was kinda intimidated lol.

I was having a great time and if the girls hadn't been older than me, I'm pretty sure i would have gone and danced with them.

In the end I'm glad i went, top night.

btw, sorry if some parts don't make sense, it's late.
