These days, women. Partly because of numbers inasmuch as there are a lot more single men than women.
But also, the power dynamic has changed and now women are far less economically reliant on men so therefore they're able to cheat and empowered to do so.
Hmmm. On one hand, maybe she's just really into you and wants to know if you feel the same, possibly as a precursor to looking for some more long-term commitment. But then it's possible that you're just overthinking things (which I know I'm sometimes guilty of).
But, to focus on your question...
I don't see her as a harridan as such. To me, that's just an older woman dispensing some sobering advice and guidance. Admittedly, it's a bleak picture she paints but, to be fair, what she describes isn't that unusual.
That sounds nice but it's wishful thinking because there are real, material effects associated with ageing. Here I mean physically, psychologically, emotionally, although these things can, of course, be handled more or less well by the individual.
Most women are still quite attractive at 35, some very much so. I think you'd see 55 year old women rather differently though. For the reasons explained - ie. they're past it. They've hit the wall - menopause.

It's not really a debate, the average age gap in the UK is 4 years.
Sure it varies and my last two girlfriends have been over 20 years younger than me.
But the data says what the data says.
I'd say that riding a powerful motorcycle is likely to make a man attractive to a larger proportion of women than playing golf. Also being in a band or being a singer will often make a guy more attractive to a certain demographic.

In my experience, a lot of younger women will have a relationship with an older guy, but it's usually a passing phase, the novelty wears off. She won't buy in permanently and sooner or later she'll monkey branch onto a better option...
