As an observation, you learn from it. You can study people's behavior and ask yourself questions about what is driving each person, watch for details to how they act, etc.
There is a reality that exists independent of what any of us wants to think. If you are talking about self-delusions, one way that I have found to cure those is to go out and act out my beliefs. The consequences delineated any false beliefs if I had them.

Most women I've seen don't develop themselves in any meaningful way, besides gaining experience with their and other's emotional states.
You're not the only one. What you are attracted to is a reflection of who you are, and being picky hopefully means that you just know yourself well. People who spam approach, on the other hand, don't know themselves.
