Why wouldn’t in either scenario feel a massive ego boost if you could have either of them volunteer to a monogamous situation? What you’re saying is possible, maybe even probable- but I think the plate mentality should then be applied equally to both sexes (which, btw nobody ever actually take the time to explain, it’s simply taken as gospel that thou shalt spin plates for life), and you should be open that you are equally likely to wander through the desert without someone that clicks for you just like she is.
