The classic "I had a great time" has to be delivered. Intention is not to ask her out for the next date but to let her know you enjoyed it.

Text or call? Especially if she says "text me when you get home!".

Definitely text. Do not rob her of the opportunity to think about you. If you call, this takes it away and could lead to longer conversation.. or the opposite; unexpected awkwardness.

If you paid for the dating activities, it's her place to let you know that she had a good time. I wouldn't bring it up. Let her be the one that says "thank you." If she doesn't provide this courtesy, I wouldn't write her off just yet, but also don't forget it.

I'd text something like "More traffic on the road than I was expecting. Letting you know that I made it home without getting into trouble."

She thanked me in person. I wonder how the old timers used to do it. Would they send snail mail? Lol

Good point on texting.

No, it doesn't. It can be said in person if possible. Text messages are for logistics, not feelings or deep conversations.

It doesn't need to be delivered. Ever.

She will contact you by the next morning if she is interested 95% of the time. Wait for it and then respond as usual.

Don't fall for that one. Tell her to text you when she gets home. This falls under an early "how easy is it to get him to do what I tell him" test that they may not even realize they are doing. But they are, at least subconsciously.

Half the time I have a text from her before I even get home that night.

No it's not necessary to tell a girl you had a great time.

If I like her and she has a few drinks in her, then I tell her to text me so I know she made it home safe.

Typically they say, "hey you sexy bad boy, made it home. You are a fuhking rockstar. I can't wait to do dirty things with you. Thanks for the best date ever". ;-). Lolz
