Tropes you Hate in Movies, Shows, Games and YouTube

Ever see a cliché in a movie that you just can't stand? Are you sick of sick of seeing love interests in movies that don't need them? Are you tired of youtube videos that stretch the ever-living sh!t out of their content just so they can make the video 10 minutes? That's what this thread is about.

• The "wacky misunderstanding" trope. Where someone mishears something, and the entire plot is that one joke stretched out to fill the length of the movie/episode.
• Sponsor parts in videos that go on for WAY too long. "By the way guys, Raid: Shadow Legends! Type in the code "crotchlocker" to get this awesome sword and 1000 gold!!"
• Youtube videos where there are constant pointless zoom-ins/zoom-outs to make the video more "quirky".
• "Tell me what you think in the comments!" Translation: "I'm not gonna bother reading your comments because I'm too famous and busy, but fill up the comments anyway!"
• Women falling in love with the protagonist, despite him having no likeable traits whatsoever. The plot just needs it to happen.
• Action scenes having seizure-inducing shaky camera movement, with 500 cuts per scene.
• Trailers that showcase the best parts of the movie, and spoil the best jokes.

• 90 lb women beating a bunch of grown ass men
• lazy plots that contradict themselves or make zero sense
• non-skippable sponsors of any kind (unless it's Count Dankula)
• Identity politics of any kind.

- Men and boys being portrayed as complete idiots.
- A girl/woman skipping the “hero’s journey” and just having natural born skills that can defeat any man.
- The good guy getting the girl.
- Anything rewritten to have a female cast.
- Pushing the LGBTXYZ agenda when it has nothing to do with the story line.

Maybe a little off topic but dont you guys hate it when you correctly guess what´s going to be the big plot twist and the movie is not even 5 minutes in? I remember watching a sequel to a movie called jack In The Box or something. It wasnt unwatchable but I remember thinking at the the start of the movie something like

"Hmmm...This character is going to bite the dust" And sure enough, that character was the last one to bite the dust.

Every single male character being backseated and made to be idiots and drunkards. Okay, except the black one #DCsLegendsOfTomorrow

Any strong independent woman that don't need no man.

Love overcoming all, in every single movie ever.

Good guys never being willing to do bad things. Batman would be a lot more effective if he just killed the baddies. Just saying.

• Colleges are fun places filled with good looking people, constant partying and easy sex.

Youtube: unnecessary long videos that contain 5 minutes of actual information over the course of a 30+ minute video. I don't mind long videos if they're actually good quality but many of them are not. Also pretty much hate all streamers because they're so insincere and cringey as fvck. And I hate how most YTers are so pushy about "smashing the like button, subbing, and turning on notifications" no fvck you, if your content is good enough I'll do that but I'm not cluttering my feed with your BS just because you told me to.

Movies: There's so many I don't know where to start. But let me say I hate every single comic book movie for the past ten years and I hate how this is STILL a fad that won't go away. I hate how most horror movies are complete shvt filled with cliches, none of them are scary anymore except indie stuff like A24 films. Yet the popular horror movies are very similar to The Conjuring which is a complete borefest and I truly don't understand how people have not caught on to the horror cliches/tropes by now.

Shows: I hate them all. There's only about a dozen shows I can stand and most of them are comedies. Breaking Bad and BCS are some of the only non-comedy shows I like. All true crime docs/podcasts are horseshvt too. I'm sick of all the netflix originals too as they're all shvt. I'm sick of the comic book shows as you might have guessed. I also hate how there aren't any good comedy shows anymore, nothing in the last ten years has been funny and all the greats have long passed their prime (South Park, Simpsons, Always Sunny, etc). In general I find most shows have too many subplots that simply serve as a way to delay the main plot from advancing by using gimmicky cliffhangers.

Games: I'm sick of open world games, most of them are terrible and focus on quantity over quality. I basically won't play games now that are more than 10 or so hrs long unless they're top-tier. Really, the audacity to think your game is so good that it warrants 40-60+ hrs of gameplay is ridiculous. We need to return to shorter, linear games with highly refined and directed gameplay that allows for more immersion and intentionally focused narratives. I'm also sick to death of all the AAA games as most of them have become soulless cookie cutter cash grabs filled with bugs and performance issues. Also sick of microtransactions and I pretty much refuse to play any game that uses them.
