He is 36yo. Came here when he was 16. He is simple and humble like the great generation that built this country. Many like him I know first hand in my line of work.
That’s a great story. Is he helping immigrants that came after him or is he trying make sure no else has the same “opportunity?”

it is about the psychopathy of getting yours and telling people after you to pound sand...that’s why the younger generations generally have no admiration for the boomers.
That's why I generally do not like the Boomer generation.

They did a lousy job parenting Millennials too and that's part of why Millennials are so messed up.

I don’t know about you guys but all i see is “immigrants” meaning Hispanics working hard all day and into the night and on the weekends. They pick up any hustle they can get. They don’t buy the 105” HDTV, they save it. They’re always working. Period. They posess a work ethic Americans lost a long time ago.

You want to be a millionaire by 40? Work your fackin ass off like Jesus does. He’s the one standing on the corner at 4am to carpool to dig the ditches you’re too good to.

Boomers are trying to cut that too. Look at what they are doing to government pensions in the state governments. My last governor ran on destroying the teachers union and defunding the transit system.
Go into business for yourself, you can create your own policies, company retirement funds, work whenever you want, 2months Vacation, however you want it. Just pay your taxes and you can have all that prosperity you think you are missing out on.

Why should millennials have to become upper middle class to rich (top 10%), just to have a comparable lifestyle to the boomer middle class?

Truth that nobody wants to hear. We wouldn't get anything built in the USA if it wasn't for them.

Yep, He employs several of them. They can learn the same skills he learned, pay their dues, and live the dream just like he has. I bet you he doesn't even know what a boomer is.

Corporate America won't hire illegals will they? The great woke doo-gooders. Talk about not providing opportunity. At least they could get cheap health insurance and social security, 401k, if they worked for corporate America. ;-). Now who is the boogey man? The multi millionaire that did good in private business or those greedy corporations that are in the back pockets of politicians?

They didnt have it easier. Ever heard of the Vietnam War???
First of all, Vietnam was not a major war. Certainly nothing like the Civil War or the two world wars. Second, many baby boomers were too young to serve in the Vietnam War. Many others were either exempt from the draft (i.e. college students) or found various ways to evade it.

As I said before, your imaginary Illegal neighbor is not a multi-millionaire. He’s also not a boomer. Since the M.O. would then be that since he has his, no one else after him should have the same opportunity.

Just for you. I guess you will call these stories bogus too. Liberals always struggle with reality.

Because times have changed. Govt Policy, economics, corporations, outsourcing, are reasons we got to where we are. If you want to sit here and blame boomers then go ahead.

Put the power back in the hands of the mom and pop businesses. Stop supporting corporations. Raise families that work together and make that business grow. The middle class is what is going away, and that's a shame. It was done this way for a long time and worked very well.

When the left gets choked up on dirty foundries, oil production, cow farts, air pollution from factories, environmental issues, etc then companies send that work to China. 30yrs of that and we have made China a serious contender for the top spot. As a result those good paying jobs died. If you want to create a prosperous nation you must produce goods, not services. We are headed in the wrong direction.

No, you said your neighbor was an illegal immigrant. Clearly you are conflating being Latino with being illegal.

Are you a boomer?
Are you racist? I stated in my opening post what I was.

Well. Millennials were infants or not yet born. So who made those policies?
Then run for office and change what you don't like. Once again, if you don't like something do something about it. Start your own business. All that takes getting off your ass and improving your position. Just like my neighbor did.

This is just a discussion thread. Younger generations have discontent for the boomer generation. You’ve shown through your posts multiple reasons why that discontent is justified. Then offer a faux choice of deal with it vs change it. Which is exactly what younger generations are doing and boomers are opposing.

You can barely get a white person on a job site. Very few. They don't want to do the work. You realize that? I know the building construction/development business quite well.
I'll let you in on a secret: A majority of white people in first world countries are obese, they are literally unfit to work construction. I know your response as well, "Well, that won't be my problem" but it will be your problem when the vast majority of the healthcare in the first world becomes clogged because these people don't take care of themselves and you can't get in to see a doctor without paying an arm and a leg.

How many obese people were around when you were young? It wasnt even a concept back then.

Furthermore, construction is a sh1t job. Who would work construction if they had a chance to do anything else? You can get fit in a gym, you don't need it to be a career to be fit.

Join the armed forces do 20, you’ll get that and more.

Take a county job, again you’ll retire with more. Most gubmint jobs will easily provide you 70k in retirement.

All I see in this thread is a bunch of whiny bitshes jealous of someone else’s good fortune. I mean FACK some of you are dissing your own ‘rents.

NO ONE OWES YOU SH1T, GET THE FSCK OVER IT.
This is hilarious, I make an observation and you whine about it while claiming anybody other than you is whining. Keep whining. We are having a civil conversation, not getting triggered, look at yourself, raging on a pick up forum. If you don't have the intellect to join in intelligent conversation why even throw your hat in the ring? Just to be mad? Go away guy.

Also for the record, we are defining what that good fortune you speak of actually is, rather than just calling it that. Definition brings understanding.

My place here is established, I’ll post whatever I’d like, whenever I’d like about whatever I’d like (within forum rules of course). And given feedback scores I’d wager to say more folks here agree with my general POV, than yours Waldo.

Would you like some string cheese to go with your entitled little brat whine?

wah
