Except it doesn't and I did not get into that type of an accident. My car would get even lower in value (ie any car that's associated with an accident loses 50% of its market value in Canada) and I stand to lose more than gain at the end of the day if it's a trivial type of accident.I think your neck hurts from the accident and you should see an attorney about your compensation. You got hit by a commercial driver. That's a payday.
Companies do not issue paycheques like that as there are investigations, adjustors, and a whole sort of issues I have no time for. In fact, I remember reporting an accident back in 2019 that was a grey area, and it attracted allot of bad luck. We had another two accidents, one where the car was flipped upside down and totalled. I then look back and think we should never have reported the first accident if it unleashed that level of bad luck afterwards. I'm would never make such a mistake again.
In fact, my mother recently slipped and had a knee-replacement after I got my Employment Insurance approved. It was a nasty fight with the previous employer but feel I sort of played the system against him rather than something that was mutually agreed upon and that happened on the day the first payment would be coming out.
I'm very sensitive to these "bad luck" things and would not want to unleash some worst things in life by trying to play the system.
