On the week of November 12th, before I got hit with massive health issues, I went back to NYC. For those that don't know, I spent most of my twenties in Manhattan just drinking, partying, working, and hanging out with friends. I was clueless about game back then even though I would read PUA stuff, never actually practiced it. I still had a lot of success with online dating though and occasionally pulled from a bar while drunk. Fast forward to 2021, I move to Miami and actually start learning game and cold approach.

I go back to NYC on November 12th with the intention of just going to the UFC event, which was phenomenal. However, I decide to stick it out a week to hang out with old friends and do some game. Long story short, I had 4 lays in a span of a week, something I had never pulled off before and all of them through cold approaching. Here are some lessons I have learned.

There is a silver lining in doing game in a tough market.

Moving from NYC to Miami was like going from Boys to Men when I had not grown out of being a boy in the first place.

IMO, Miami is probably the toughest game city on the east coast of the US because the competition is insane. Alongside Los Angeles and San Diego, it may be the toughest dating market in the USA if not the world.

The average guy looks a lot better and will cold approach women. Women are used to being hit up by higher value guys whether being approached or DM'd. Make no mistake about it, compared to other cities, the average Miami guy is quite alpha. In fact, I read a while back that the South Florida area produces more NFL players than anywhere else in the country. South Florida, Miami in particular, is a haven for Chads and Naturals.

For months, I pounded sand in a tough market where the women are spoiled and stuck up. I put myself through the fire in a very intimidating and difficult market where most guys burn out. While I did have some real success here and there, I always thought about what I had missed out on in NYC. I mean seriously, out of the frying pan and into one big freaking fire.

I thought back to just how easy things really were in NYC where the average guy was quite emasculated. I thought back to how NYC's version of "masculine" was some short mouthy guido while in Miami, I was running into Chads and Tyrones approaching like mad men. What have I done? I gave up life in NYC to go to a market where the competition is just unreal!

However, after months of getting my a$$ handed to me and getting manhandled by the game in Miami, I started to have some results. When I came back to NYC, it is like I was a team that had played in the toughest conference and now get realigned to a weak one. For your world football fans, it is like I had gone from playing in the La Liga to playing in the MLS. For you American football fans, it is like I had gone from playing in the SEC to playing in the Mountain West. I ran through NYC like a hot knife through butter and even stole a guy's date who I would end up screwing that night.

I honestly think that in order to do good in game, you have to do game in a rough market where the competition is insane to really see what you are made of.

Mindset matters when it comes to tough situations in game.

Let's be real here, looks and how you game matter a lot when it comes to getting laid. However, you will occasionally get hit with tough situations such as nights where things are not going your way. I got hit with that one night when I was out doing night game in Murray Hill. I got turned down left and right and thought about how the old me would have quit. New me had this entitlement to him and this idea that I had braved through game in Miami, anything game-related that I encounter in NYC should be a cakewalk or minor bump on the road instead.

So I braved through that night and after about a few rejections, I got my third lay of the trip. It was the funniest one too as it ended up back at her place and she had two roommates. We were so loud when f*cking that one of her roommates complained and she yelled back at them saying "get yourself some d1ck then!".

Mindset alone won't help you get laid if other things are not there but it will help you win in those tough nights where nothing seems to go your way at first.

And there is a mindset you get when you really want to get something done.

I wanted to get laid a lot in my one week in NYC and my mindset was literally a "get sh*t done" mindset.

Old me would have faltered at too many rejections in a night.

Old me would have made excuses.

Old me would have stayed indoors when it was cold and rainy outside.

Not the new me. New me was going to get at it and fight like a wolverine for the outcome. I did not care what others thought of me cold approaching or any of that. I even remember on my second lay how some Asian couple (super white washed one) was staring at me and even trying to get involved to hopefully "save" the girl from some random guy approaching her. I know I sound racist but man NYC has so many nosy white-washed Asians lol. Anyways, I cared little while the old me would have cared a lot.

When you want to get sh*t done, you don't care what others think of you or how many rejections you have had. It just sort of slides off of you.

On the other hand, not being attached is what makes the previous mindset dangerous in a good way.

You don't care about the opinions of anyone at the venue or in public, you are there to do game. A girl rejects you? Whatever, thousands more that day in NYC. You are a guy looking to have fun, practice his game, meet amazing women, and have a fun time doing it. You don't care about the opinions of others and are just doing your own thing. Overtime, you start to get noticed in a good way. I had one guy call me to his rooftop party in Soho and if I did not have a date that night, I'd have gone.

Logistics, logistics, and I almost forgot to mention, LOGISTICS!

The one other thing I miss about NYC that I do not have in Miami? Logistics. In NYC, so many bars are right next to each other. You can go to one bar that is a party bar and then lead a girl to another nearby bar that is more classy. From there, it is a lot easier to get her home or have her take you home which is what happened to me on my third lay. In Miami, everything is more spread out like it is in LA so getting a girl back to your place is tough unless she is really into you.

In Miami, you have a situation where one good bar is in one place and there are no other good bars nearby unless you Uber out. Then you have to somehow convince a girl to get into a 15 minutes plus Uber to go back to your place. Unless you have a really good wing, a girl is super into you, or some bizarre situation, getting laid that night is going to be rough. Meanwhile in NYC, you don't have this. Everything is so close.

You don't know what you have till its gone.

I never knew how good I had it in NYC before the pandemic. At one point, I lived in an apartment that had a very popping bar downstairs as is common in NYC. Yeah, you'd see all of those bars hot girls gather at and apartments above them in Manhattan, I had that. I never capitalized on any of that because I barely knew game and I was too busy getting drunk with loser friends and focusing on the wrong things in life.

One of my wings from Miami moved to NYC earlier in 2022 after years of grinding in Miami. He got an apartment in the LES right above a popular bar and had five straight weeks where he pulled multiple times in that week. The guy would rarely do that in Miami but he was shooting fish in a barrel in NYC. I could have been him if I had it together in my twenties but you can't change the past! Speaking of....

NYC is still king when it comes to game and opportunities for young men.

When Facebook and Google opened an office in Manhattan (or planned to) and the woke techies from San Francisco flooded in, I thought Manhattan was done and would turn into a sausagefest.

When the pandemic hit and crime went through the roof, I thought NYC was done.

When the vaxx mandates hit, I thought for sure that it was over for NYC.

However, after experiencing a garbage nightlife in Miami, NYC felt like a breath of fresh air. Even after all of this, NYC remained king. Yes, girls in Miami are hotter (slightly), but NYC had an abundance of hot girls walking around by themselves. I had also been approached and opened a few times at the bars in the city. One day, I do look to eventually return to NYC but for now, I have a few things I want to do in Miami. However, if your goal is to get a high lay count with girls that are solidly above average, go to NYC.

The saying goes that if you can make it in NYC you can make it anywhere, I say that if you cannot get laid in Manhattan, you can't get laid anywhere.

Vindication is a heck of a feeling and probably one of the best ones a man can feel.

You are at a bar and go through strings of rejections until one girl says yes. You are walking out of the bar with her and notice that one of the girls who rejected you, along with her group, look at you in that "WTF" sort of way. Who knows what they are thinking but you just feel it, that inner middle finger to them as you walk out with your girl.

You are cold approaching and this nosy guy or nosy couple try to ****block you or ruin your set. Regardless, you get numbers anyways and keep on going. One girl you meet is super receptive and she even tells a couple bothering you to get lost, albeit in a nice way. Now that is a heck of a feeling.

Or a feeling I had. You lived in a city for years underperforming in game and letting it all get to you for the worst. Then, after a stay in another city where you basically treat game as a training camp, you come back to that same city and have 4 lays in the span of a week. Vindication b1tch!

Speaking of logistics, is there space enough to phuck in those tiny closets in NYC? I mean, if somebody farts the sexy time is over, no?

Refreshing to see posts like this where someone is putting in the work to succeed, facing their fears, working through discomfort, and being brutally honest about both their failures and their successes.

LMFAO. TBH the rooms are livable enough and not exactly the smallest. If anything, it makes it that much more intimate because it is just you with her in a small room. I do love having a massive apartment in Miami which at times make it tough to go back to NYC unless my salary goes up by a lot more.

I wish my city wasn't unsafe and full of crime. Suburbs are too cliquey, everyone seems to know everyone, also cold as **** lately. I feel like having the abundance of just being surrounded by women alone makes prospects infinitely better and makes rejection sting less just based on logistics alone. How old are you? And how old were the girls you pulled?

OMG....you aren't lying. Stayed in a $400+ a night hotel for a meeting one time(company paid for it) and it was like I was in a closet. I could not believe how small the room was. There was a bed, a TV and dresser and a shower with a sink outside and barely enough room to walk on either side of the bed and that was it.

Well imo the best way to travel is to experience the locale authentically as possible. I think they should actually raise that price, and add an extra $50 per rat.

NYC has gotten to be quite dangerous these days. They say that the old New York is back and that is not a good thing as at one point, NYC was even dirtier than it is right now and riddled with an a$$load of crime. Even in the wealthier parts of Manhattan, expect a lot of the crazy drugged out homeless and bad smells.

LMFAO! Dude, you must live in a crappy part of Chicago but I am sorry, if you cannot get laid in Chicago then the problem is most definitely you. I found the women in Chicago far more approachable than girls in any other city I have been to. @logicallefty grew up in Chicago and so did some other mods on here. Stop making excuses bro.

Fwiw I had a buddy move from Chicago to Phoenix and he was amazed at the improvement of the women. The fattie % went from over 50 to under 20.

I think Stanley was referring to the crime factor.

Dude, you're projecting hardcore. I made no excuses? What? I stated the decline of my city. I'm in the burbs now and complaining about that.

I don't currently live in the city as previously stated and Chicago has been getting increasingly more violent and our crime rates are the highest they've been. There's awesome areas to go to, but you need to know the area well. Its a fun city in the summer with lots to do, winter not so much. Our whole state is in exodus and many are leaving the city. We surpassed our past peak homicide from 1991 last year. The riots and lootings pushed a lot of people away from wanting to visit and even 'nice' areas have seen an uptick in crime. Carjackings in particular, so much so that our governor announced today carjacking protection laws among others.

We have an estimated 70,000 homeless within the city now and every underpass you'll find tents. Seeing drug deals on the L is common, while leaving the Aragon ballroom last month on Lawrence Ave my friends and I heard gunshots about a block south of us. July 4th 2021 we we're in Ogilvie Train Station at the food court and a homeless man slammed his fist against a popeyes cash register, in response a thug pulled a gun pointed over our heads and threatened to 'ice' this guy. It is a meme at this point amongst Chicagoans about how far south the city has gone. We have incredibly corrupt officials like our beloved Beatle juice who pledged to serve her black community and address inner-city crime, yet has done nothing. We are the most segregated city in the country by many metrics. We have arguably the most corrupt police force in the country. We are consistently losing major corporate entities here such as Citadel, Boeing and Caterpillar. ****, even the bears are looking to leave. Post covid I'm hard pressed to find anyone my age that wants to live or venture out to the city, summer is a different story.

I mean it is not at the level of NYC or Miami in terms of looks but it isn't exactly Atlanta either. I went and found my fair share of cute blondes and approachable enough girls. I'd find it hard to imagine that a sausagefest like Phoenix is better.

Correct. NYC is terrible. Your taking your chances on the streets at night and subways are a game of Russian roulette

great post! Making me reconsider Miami this weekend.

I visited Chicago this year, was staying near Old Town and had almost no issues. If you think Chicago is bad now, well that is most major cities. FFS, even Miami Beach made the news due to all of the crime on Spring Break, in fact some say it made national headlines for it last year.

You could look into Wrigleyville, my friends who live there have no issues.

I think this is more of a you need to get your stuff together and just do it. Don't like Chicago then fine, move elsewhere where things are safer and easier.

Yeah no **** wrigleyville is fun, this is my city, I visit friends in Wrigley on a weekly basis. Old town is fine, both places are tourist spots with predominantly out of towners who come in from the burbs. If you're staying near the loop or trendy areas your fine, but people forget how ****ed parts of the city are on how one missed stop on the red line and you're in a bad area.

You made a comparison claiming New York is worse off then Chicago and I disagreed. I don't understand the responses? Did I miscommunicate something?

Our obesity rate in the city is one of the highest in the country. The hot girls you see are from the Burbs and north side of the city predominantly.

Then bro, MOVE THERE. Cannot due to finances? Work on that rather than arguing on here brother.

As for NYC, it has gotten really bad dude. The Bronx, Brownsville in Brooklyn, and anywhere outside of Manhattan has awful crime rates. Heck, even in Manhattan you read of a runner being beaten up and raped or a woman being pushed off the tracks.
