"The Great Gatsby - A tale of ONEitis."

Gatsby is essentially a Beta Male who has developed some Alpha traits – but they're not enough to compensate for his core of beta-ness. Fitzgerald writes that Gatsby's house is a "Parody of wealth", because Gatsby's whole personality is a parody of an Alpha male:

  • He throws elaborate parties because he thinks that's what an Alpha would do, but he doesn't really know how to be social so he just walks around, an orbiter at his own parties.
  • He buys tons of **** because he thinks that's what an Alpha would do, but he doesn't even particularly want or need the **** he buys: he doesn't even use his swimming pool the whole summer.
  • He lifts and dresses well because he wants to be Alpha, but he still doesn't look like an Alpha because his wardrobe choices reveal his beta soul and lack of education – he is known for wearing ostentatious pink suits.

Gatsby had one critical flaw, and Fitzgerald hits us over the head with it: He had NO inner game, only outer game. Gatsby thought that you could become a sexy Alpha male just by looking like a sexy Alpha male, but he never understood that Alpha-ness is a personality trait and a set of behaviors, not something that you can emulate just by wearing expensive clothing.

The scene where gatsby and tom confront each other is in my opinion the most Red pill scene in the movie. The scene is a frame battle, and Tom keeps his frame when it's important, reveals Gatsby's beta nature and ruins years of outer game that Gatsby's been developing in one conversation. Gatsby's life comes down to a frame battle. This very absolutely supports the idea that inner game is more important than outer game.

ABUNDANCE MENTALITY

Tom has mistresses besides Daisy due to his abundance mentality and he uses his mistress as a possession for showing off to his male friends. That's why he introduces Nick right away to his mistress. He knows he is rich and can get any woman.

Daisy suspects and knows that Tom has mistresses but she doesn't end the marriage because she would rather share a alpha than be with a beta.

Gatsby was a pathetic beta who spent all his time, energy, and mental health to lust after a woman.

Daisy is a typical narcissist that uses her emotional tantrums to manipulate weak men. She literally finds any excuse to have "emotional breakdowns" which are really just nothing more than theatre to gain attention.

Gatsby is the ultimate cvck. Imagine having all that money and wasting it on idiotic parties to entertain random unknowns for the sole purpose of attracting a narcissistic girl that's above average at best.

A real man would use his money to help those who've been loyal to him. Perhaps there were people along the way in his journey that mentored him, perhaps there's a friend that stood by his side when everyone abandoned, perhaps there were siblings that fell on hard times and needed some help - these are the people that he should have spent his money on, not a bunch of plebs looking for free music, free food and free alcohol....

The only commendable aspect of Gatsby is that he was able to channel his (foolish) love for Daisy to achieve millionaire status, that type of drive and ambition is admirable.

When it was all said and done, Gatsby died and Daisy couldn't give 2 sh/ts about him...

Boyos, if you ever achieve financial success, help those who've helped you. Reward those who've been loyal to you.

And above all else, bang as many women as possible so you can get over the allure of narcissistic women.

EDIT::: BTW, OP is to be saluted for making this post. I also like to reference movies that are relevant to dating dynamics and can illustrate certain personality types.

Thus far I've commented on Casino, Blade Runner 2049 and recently Her. I'm trying to write up a brief synopsis on Ex Machina. Specifically, how Nathan is an alpha genius pioneer, how Caleb is the SIMP that ruins things by not being able to put aside his emotions, and of course Ava, whose an AI with a mechanical body and no bio-chemical emotions, and yet once this AI is programmed to be female it automatically exhibits classic female hypergamous and manipulative behavior.

I read the alphabet recently and found it very red pill. A is alpha, B is beta and just always finishes second.
Books and movies are made to be enjoyed and excite your mind , not to think if a guy is an alpha , beta or a cuck

Wolf of Wall Street also starred Leonardo DiCaprio aside from Gatsby. What about the character in that movie? Same insecure issues?

I strongly disagree.

Yes books and movies are made for entertainment purpose, but it doesn't mean we are strictly not allowed to have certain perception about certain characters, based on certain definitions about certain types of people in our living and ongoing society.

In that matter, I agree that Gatsby checks every box in the "Beta" list.

yes , but to look at this firstly with is he a beta or not lenses is not how you should “consume” this type of entertainment

beta , alpha or cuck , it is an amazing movie and book

I agree. I read this book and watched this movie countless times before I was introduced to the concepts of alpha and beta and stuff.

As men, we can still enjoy a work of art for its artistic values, without worrying too much about the protagonist who is a beta cuck. LOL

I was joking about the alphabet, which is literally alpha-beta. It's right there in the title.

Books and movies have themes beyond their entertainment value that get you to think. Each person can enjoy a work of art how he likes; there are no rules governing it. One guy sees an adventure about a man hunting a whale, another guy sees a parable about man's insignificance within nature.
life is meant to be enjoyed not to rationalize it all the time

we just have to accept that most of the time we are more irrational than rational

I only saw the 2013 movie with Leo in it. Can anyone tell me if this is close to the original movie? Or do I need to see the original movie?

Peace and Quiet

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

It's based on the book, a few minor changes in regards to the side charecters and gatsbys father appearing at the end. Other then that it's a pretty faithful adaptation
